I started recently playing Spvp with my mesmer, I am working hard to adjust anything and everything to make my mesmer do great in pvp with my play-style (a person who normal doesn’t play pvp). it is disputable that some feel the mesmer is op, others feel that we are squishy but deserve these abilities because its a harder class to master. Reguardless, here are some ideas, put let me know what you think…

1) Mesmer portal: add a buff to let you know there is an entrance portal placed, and if possible a timer to let you know how long before it disappears.

why?
using the portal ability in Spvp is key impo: when a portal is placed in the right place it can help you escape from a losing battle, move quickly back to a battle that could be won but needs more help, or move your entire team from one point to cap to another. I have used the portal for all these uses, the hard factor is duration, and CD. in order to get the longest duration, you need to lay 1 portal, and only lay the second one right before use…doing it this way allows you to keep the connection up for a full minute, and if the 2nd portal is placed b4 the 1st diappears, an additional 20sec from placement of said 2nd portal.

2) have clones mimic our buffs: NOT have our buffs, but mimic them…its bad enough that the AI of our clones give us away because thy don’t strafe or move backwards. bad enough that if we get marked our clones are essentially useless, but then on top of that our clones don’t mimic our buffs, so if we get a buff once again its clear who the mesmer really is.

prime example) chaos armor: if I get the armor, a large bubble shows people that I do, its on me, it is not on my clones, neither ones already in place, or new ones I create. While the armor helps as people hit me, it doesn’t help much if I just light off a huge beacon on which one I am.
