So I recently bought the Hippo Calf, which I absolutely love and would like to keep it with me at basically all times. However, I commonly use deposit all collectables since until recently I did not have a mini that I wanted to have with me. As many people know this then deposits any minis you have in your inventory since they are considered collectables, requiring me to then travel to a bank to grab my hippo again. I’ve heard that the invisible bags prevent this but I don’t think it should be necessary to carry an invisible bag for this since I do not like what they do.

My proposal then is to just add a simple equipment slot on your hero screen that prevents the current mini you have equipped from being deposited. I feel this would be a very simple thing to implement since all that would need to be added is a small spot on hero screen that when you equip a mini it would then have that mini summoned to follow you. It would allow me to once again use deposit all collectables which is a very useful tool and still allow me to use my mini at basically all times.

I’d love to hear any other thoughts or suggestions.

There have been many suggestions for this, and I continue support it. I don’t keep my minis around anymore because they’ve just become a nuisance (having to reequip them every time I rezone and deposit collectibles, which is pretty often).
