Since the implementation of the abilities on costumes and cosmetic outfits in GW2, I have been having more fun with them. It really gave new life to costumes and outfits.

At the moment I have not seen many people using mini pets at all. I was thinking if you gave the mini pets abilities like the costumes and allowed them to fight, it could do the same thing it did for costumes.

If you really wanted to, you could track the stats for the pets. Wins, losses, even create a tournament ground for them. The Tenanera’s Pit in Lion’s Arch would be perfect for this. There are even mini pets in there already. You could also make an sPvP area just for mini pets.

If you wanted to go even more extreme, you could have the pets evolve through stages. For instance maybe you have to get special food for them and if you feed them enough, maybe 2 weeks worth of feeding, they will grow or evolve to another stage. Maybe complete daily quests or something with them.

I just feel at the moment mini pets feel kind of old hat. They need something to liven them up a bit.
