Minis vs deposit all collectables
That’s what invisible inventory bags are for. Put a mini in it, and deposit-all-collectibles doesn’t return your mini to the bank.

That’s a workaround rather than a fix though Malafide. And it doesn’t address the fact that krs is essentially correct.
The amount of players using minis is minimal as they’re not convenient to display.
I still think the inventory slot idea is the best for minipets.
Let me appeal directly to ArenaNet’s money bone:
I am not buying minipets from the gemstore at the moment because of the degree of inconvenience involved in displaying them. I am sure many others feel the same way.
If they were easier to display, I would have no qualms about buying them from the gemstore.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
yeah, my post was triggered by me wanting that new lion cub, but then dismissing it because i know i will accidentally send it to the bank and then forget about it.
So yeah, fix this and the time spent will make it self back tenfold when we buy the pets we want!

Its not that I’m opposed to a special mini pet slot. But you say the amount of people using mini’s is minimal? Where do you get this statistic?

That would instead “disable” the feature to merge and view all bags as one, which still would count as choosing between a mini or sane inventory management (atleast for me, YMMV)

Not exactly. For example, I always carry one invisible bag with me, with mini pets in them, and various other equipment that I don’t want to sell by accident. That’s basically all you need to prevent sending mini’s to the bank, one dedicated invisible bag. You can still view all bags at once, but only one is invisible at the merchant. You can perfectly manage your inventory that way. In fact, it’s more efficient.

Sigh
I don’t need statistics.
I can count the amount of times I’ve seen people using minipets in game since release on my fingers and toes.
Sure, there may be some crazy server out there where everyone is displaying minis all the time, but on Ring of Fire, seeing a mini is notable by how infrequently it occurs.
Edit: And besides, why the hell are you against someone suggesting the system needs to be improved?
If you use minipets, wouldn’t an improvement to their implementation benefit you too?

Your observations are biased, not everyone would display minis even if it was more convenient to do so. Many I’ve chatted with have told me how they don’t get the point in having minipets follow them around, or even saying they hate them.
Even so Tuomir, you’re detracting from the point:
The minipet system COULD be improved.
I get the feeling a lot of people here aren’t so interested in the subjects posted and are more interested in arguments.
Answer me straight and true:
Would the ability to equip and display minipets in the same way we equip and display armour be an improvement over the current implementation?
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.

I’m one of those people. Add me to the list of statistics. I hate invisible bags, give me a minipet slot or something.
Unfortunately due to someone being upset and alerting a moderator instead of you know, debating, my suggestion for a solution was lost. This sort of behavior does a debate more harm than good (and its kind of petty).
I’ll repeat, that a toy-box would be a much better solution to this problem. You would no longer need to click mini-pets in your inventory to summon them. Instead, you can safely deposit mini-pets in your bank, and then summon any mini-pet directly from your bank, by clicking the toy-box item.
This has the added advantage that you have access to ALL your collected mini-pets, and you don’t have to carry them around.
