I am a thief. I can only wear a mask, it seems. However, the elementalist has a really awesome headpiece I want. I know that there is a stone that allows you to change the appearance of an item. Will that stone allow me to transfer the appearance of an item that is bound to another profession to an item that is bound to my profession? If not, please consider this a feature request for either that functionality to be added to the stone or for more cosmetic accessories in the store.

The stones can be used to merge the appearance and stats of two items, giving you the appearance of one and the stats of the other. However, they are restricted to “items of the same type”. My understanding is that this means that you can merge a light armor head piece with another light armor head piece, but you could not merge a light armor head piece with a medium armor head piece. So in essence, I do not believe it is currently possible to do what you want.

As for the suggestion that such an ability be added… I wouldn’t expect that to happen, largely because in PvP situations, the ability to prioritize targets is at least partially based on recognition of armor types. If, all of a sudden, a player could wear heavy armor, but look like they are wearing squisy light armor, this could affect PvP play in unexpected ways. Otherwise, it would be purely cosmetic, and I would be all for more cosmetic appearance options.

I also would personally like to see more options for town clothes.

I am talking purely cosmetic. I don’t care if I take a good piece of armor and turn it into something that offers no protection if I can get the look I want for walking around and RPing in. Ask for the PvP aspect, add a flag or other mechanism that won’t allow the cosmetic armor to be worn in that world.

ur a thief, so you need to wear medium armor and can’t wear light armor. Clearly allowing that would be a bad idea, since then it would be harder to differentiate between different professions. In an MMO as in life you have to accept at least partially the consequences of decisions that you take. Anyway there are a ton of different armors in the game and surely you can find something you like.

There are more medium headgear types than a mask. I keep a hood on my thief, for example.

I would like this as an option for town clothes/non combat clothing. Alternately, a LOT more town clothing options and make them able to be dyed. I want the option for my medium or heavy armor wearing female to put on something that looks more like a dress or even a nice blouse & pants when she’s not out fighting.

I want a medium armor hat that looks like a straw hat! for when I’m out and about in farm lands! I guess town clothes could work for that too :p
