Modern Day MMO with old school graphic flaws
name one MMO that does NOT have clipping issues and there will be TONS of pics on google that call you a liar…
oh and btw, jfyi, all MMO’s are 5-6 years old graphically when they are released…
it takes 5-6 years to develop an MMO…
Here’s the thing…
That handle/armstrap takes up system resources and development time, yet YOU DON’T SEE IT. It’s industry standard practice to “cut corners” on art that nobody will ever see.
Objects clipping through each other is an unfortunate limitation of video games with “one-size fits all” equipment. Animators have to work with what they’re given and oftentimes, to make an animation work as per the storyboards, you have to accept some clipping. The reason you don’t see clipping in movies/cartoons is because each character is designed and looked over with the utmost care to eliminate clipping.
Yes, I understand that you can zoom in and take a look and see that your shield is floating in mid-air or cutting into your arm, but in actual gameplay you likely won’t notice it. Until computer’s and internet technology advance MUCH further, such optimizations will be necessary.
No one’s going to see your asscrack either, should you not bother to wipe it to cut corners? Oh and I also never said any other MMO did it perfectly either, although to name one off the top of my head, Mount & Blade does it and how old is that game?
no body is going to see the muscles under the armor so they might as well just give 1 body type to everyone.same goes for breasts, face and every character customization
If they did add all these little things you will be in here complaining about lag etc.
Seesh make one suggestion to Anet on how to make their game better and fanboys come swooping down on you, calm down kids nothing wrong with telling them stuff could be better.
I don’t think a shield strap is a huge deal, but reaching for an arrow from a quiver that does not exist bugs the crap out of me on my thief lol
