Modifying the skill bar.
By havign weapon skills be the same for everyone and locked in place, it promotes learning that weapon for that class as part of the “skillset” for this game.
Not that I don’t agree with you that we should be able to at least move around those skills, that is just the reasoning used by the dev team.
At this point i think they should just throw us a bone and allow bar modification if you’ve leveled to 80 and have the Gladiator title.
While they’re at it, put cast bars in so skilled interrupting can become a role again.

I don’t think you need to have the gladiator title as that would mean people who only PvE cannot switch their skills around, and being level 80 would mean that you are already set in your ways on that char and wouldn’t need the switch.
I support the cast bars and the skill switch just do not think there needs to be a requirement for it after you learn al 5 skills. Before mastering all 5 skills switching them should be locked

You can tell when people are casting things, they move very obviously.

Being able to see the cast bar allows you to wait until the last possible second before interrupting them. This allows for the greatest time of doing damage and makes a huge difference if you interrupt at the beginning of a 2 second cast or at the end.

Not having a cast bar, makes it more about skill and knowing your opponent than a cast bar even will. Beside part of GW2 is that you should NOT be looking at the UI, but on the actual world and the characters in it, which a cast bar does not promote
GW1 was more skill based, yet it had great casting bar nameplates.
I rather like the skill bar locked the way it is since it promotes learning the skills you have available and learning the different classes. Besides, if you have a gaming mouse/keyboard set they tend to allow you to remap your keys however you want & you can do this in game as well.
However, I would like to have a couple of extra slots that can be mapped to your food & oil/sharpening stone so you don’t need to open up your inventory to be able to use it. Right now when I’m running around I tend to keep my inventory open, just minimized down to a couple of slots in a single row so I can get to my food easier.
Dragging the food etc to the slot to map it would be an easy addition and wouldn’t make things unbalanced in game since it’s just a minor convenience.
