Let’s just think about how much more fun this game would be with Monks, Hall of Heroes, GvG.
You know, Guild Wars 1 was bound by their name “Guild Wars”.
Guild Wars 2 isn’t the same. There’s no Guild versus Guild therefore GW2 isn’t bound by it’s name.
Having a healing class may bring meta gaming, but aside from the fact that Arena Net doesn’t want “Meta Gaming”, there’s always going to be something that beats something else (given, this is Meta Gaming).
Let’s talk flaws:
Downed states
No dedicated healer class
Domination sPvP, sure we like capping points, but we’d rather feel victorious killing the Guild Lord or everyone on the other team.
Let’s talk pros:
Great combat system (I absolutely love the way you can evade by dodging)
Lack of paid tournaments (I remember when you used to have to pay for tournaments)
Truly isn’t an eSport unless the things I’ve stated are fixed
Now let’s look at http://www.mistleague.com/
They have the right approach, trying to make a casual game like GW2 into an eSport, I like that.
They’re doing the right thing that Arena Net won’t.
GW2 was supposed to be a sequel to GW. I remember the $100,000 Factions Tournament, do I see the same in GW2, no.
