Given how hard it is to obtain a viable build for multiple professions, i suggest that we get an additional 15 trait points to spend.

5 trait points added by each manual. So at level 11 you get 5 trait points right off the bat, at level 30 you get a total of 30 trait points, at level 60 you have 65 trait points, at at level 80 you have 85.

Such an “upgrade” would greatly aid those classes with low build diversity, such as, but not limited to, rangers and engineers (only ones that come to my mind, never tried mesmers over lvl 20)

It would also help “cut back” on the work needed to be done with the gears itself, as one could more easily balance out the differences between gears.

Nah.

Would cause some really serious balance issues by allowing Glass Cannons to get defensive skills.

I think the amount of trait points are good as they are. What I’d like to have, though, is the ability to have dual specs, even if you can’t switch them all the time (make it so you have to talk to a trainer to switch or something like that).

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

that would be a good idea…

However, i still think we should AT LEAST have 80 trait points…. it seems odd that we cant start building these up before level 11…. sure i can agree that we cannot utilize them right off the bat, but we should atleast have 1 point/level….

Rather than increasing trait points, I think they should increase the viability of the current traits.

I would wager that less than half of them are ever seriously considered.

See no reason to increase the cap. There are already various balance issues atm and making stronger (not new, stronger) builds would cut into any work that was being done. The whole point of traits is to be unique, getting the best of both worlds isn’t unique.

Wouldn’t mind having more trait points for PvE if the level cap is increased down the road, but the current trait points should be capped where they are now for WvW and PvP.

Given how hard it is to obtain a viable build for multiple professions,

I don’t agree that’s an issue. There are multiple fun and efficient builds for every profession, even with the current cap.
