I was thinking about dungeon armors lately, where some armors I like the looks of but doesn’t include that stats I need or want for my character. For example, I really like the looks of the noble heavy armor from CM dungeon, but none of the stat choices include soldier stats I want. Why does that have to be? Why not expand the choice of stats to include all the variety? Why just three sets?

It’s most likely done this way to encourage people to do different dungeons instead of just farming the easiest to get all your gear. The other reason everyone will point to, which is also valid, is that it promotes their sales of the fine transmutation stones.

Specific dungeons (like CoF) are already farmed due to the monetary value. If that dungeon could also provide all available stat varieties currently offered in other dungeons, we’d probably find most of the other dungeons becoming completely vacant.

Would not getting the gear appearance of the armor you want not be the incentive in the first place? Also the achievement for doing all the dungeons? I don’t understand why appearance and stats are still so connected. It is so backwards and outdated concept. Transmutation stones is a whole other ripoff. I love making my characters look the way I want, but being forced to do it through consumables that cost gems seems overboard to me.

Considering this game is mainly aesthetically driven, how can you expect them to not capitalize on this? That’s the whole point. If you want the best gear, you can get it. If you want to look purdy, work for it.

The achievement for doing all the dungeons will not keep people coming back, for the same reason it’s getting harder and harder to do story mode on some dungeons because you do it once, and you’re done.

Actually what they did is a good idea. It entices people to play more then 1 dungeon to get the look and stats they want, which in turn helps to have a pool of players for various dungeons to group up with.

Then you can use the transfer stones to transfer the look of one item onto the gear with the states you want.

Well they could have charged you $15 a month to play the game, which no doubt would have cost you more over time then it would take to buy the transmutation stones.

For little less then $15 a month you can transmute 35 items.
