Movement by point and click
Not a lineage guy myself, and I’m perfectly fine with the current system. That said if this isn’t a major implementation nightmare I don’t see why not.
I don’t mind it either if it’s optional, but it really doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. Movement is everything in GW2’s combat, and there’s no way you’d not accidentally move while trying to aim an AoE with the mouse or select a Volatile Bloom on TA. Honestly, I think they’re saving you a lot of frustration.
Well, I play thief… in order to cloak and hit backstab in the back I need to run around the enemy with keyboard. And I fail to hit in the back with double damage most of the time.
With point-and-click this is just 2 clicks. 1st click to get to the side and 2nd to get to the back.

Well, in L2 any new movements are disabled if Shift pressed. For example you stand on the edge of a rock, hold shift and pick targets, shoot – you don’t move and don’t fall.
If you run and press shift, direction of your movement is saved and isn’t affected by clicks on the ground/players/etc.
Hope you get it.

I remember back in the day when shooters didn’t use ASWD keys, but the arrow keys.
When someone finally did ASWD, it was amazing.
Click to move in a game that depends so much on mobility would be a nightmare, especially if you try and factor dodge into the situation as well. Yes, I know you can click on the yellow bar but it’s pretty small (I actually preferred the bar from BWE1).
TBH, it sounds like a complete rehashing of the movement system.
