Anet, could you make it so we can see the guild chat of every guild we belong to at the same time, not just the one we are representing? I am a member of a multiple guilds and don’t want to miss out on guild events, however, I am forced to choose just one of my guilds’ chat to see. One suggestion is for having a multi-guild chat. So it wouldn’t be confusing to read, just display the guild tag next to the “Guild_Member:” part of the chat, so we can identify which guild that post belongs to.

It would be something like this:

Guild1_Member [guild1_tag]: blah blah blah…
Guild2_Member [guild2_tag]: blah blah blah…

This way people in multiple guilds don’t miss out by having to choose one.
WvW guilds can pull their numbers more easily because right now if someone isn’t representing they won’t see when their guild is calling them WvW, with a multi-guild chat they will be able to see the message and will be able to group up with their guild.

For posting in the chat, I would just keep it to whichever guild you are representing is the guild whose chat you can post to.

So basically, show every guilds’ chat, that you are a member of, in the chat panel and display the guild tag next to the poster’s name.

I don’t think they even need to make it put the guild tag in the chat, just let you set a different color for each guild and replying in guildchat should be as simple as /g1, /g2, /g3

But this is just one of a number of chat options that they should implement IMO but for some reason it seems like a part of the UI that has literally been given no attention (seriously tell me how many gems I need to buy to get a second chat window and I will do it!)

YES. I was just talking with one of my guild members about this.

Instead of in the same window, it would be nice to set up a different tab in the chat window for each guild, like we have with “main” “guild” “whispers” etc.

You could just have a system where, in the menu of each chatbox, you can check “Listen to Alt Guilds” and then have each guild have a little tickbox when selecting them (next to represent/stand down) asking to show in alt guild chat.

I like the “Listen to Alt Guilds” idea, it would make it simple, maybe have a box for each guild separately so you can decide which guilds you want to listen to and which you don’t want to. I know that sometimes I wouldn’t rep a guild because the chat would fill up my panel and I wouldn’t be able to see my party chat.

As for the different colors for each guild, I thought about it when I came up with the tag idea. It would work but I feel that the tags would make it easier tell which guild is which, however, having multiple color options wouldn’t hurt either :P
