Q:
In the recent interview, Colin (Hi!) said that:
“For WvW players, we simply have more people trying to play WvW than the game can currently support. We’re working on finding ways to get more people in playing WvW, so everyone can take part in the epic battles going on across the mists and not spend time in queues.”
Since I have no idea of the tech ANet are using, their coding or how they’re conducting the matches, my question is this (aimed at ANet, but anyone can drop their 2 bits in):
Why not have a set number of multiple instances of WvW, and average the scores out?
For the sake of an example (since I don’t have any figures for queue numbers):
Each WvW match has two instances of it going on. Every points-tick then averages the total number of points out, and adds it to the total.
So Match 1 gets 10 points, and Match 2 gets 20. Meaning the server would get 15 points in total towards the bonuses.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be averaging: I’m not a mathematician, but there might be a better way of doing it than averaging.
Now, obviously there are some advantages and disadvantages of this:
Advantage – More people get to play WvW.
Disadvantage – If one match doesn’t keep up with the other, then the server actually loses points.
I disagree…if a server hasn’t reached his limit but one of the others or both did, then it would be a bigger disadvantage if the other 2 can join a second instance when this one server hasn’t been able to even fill one.

Sorry, I wasn’t too clear.
The only time the second instance would be created is if there’s enough players from all servers to fill it.
It wouldn’t be 2 instances straight off regardless.
