You can trade it, just don’t equip it (I think you can’t even equip your base weapon to craft legendary, but I’m not sure).
I 100% agree with you, Legendary shortbow also hasn’t got good stats at all (Power and Precision are cool, but Condition Damage?).

+1 but I think they limited it on purpose. I don’t think their are any items that offer healing power, toughness, vitality. Probably because this combination would be difficult to balance. A full HP, T, V build would end up being an unkillable juggernaut and dungeon bosses would have to be adjusted to account for them and they already hit hard enough to one or two-shot anybody that didn’t build for toughness/vitality. Players would be forced into HP, T, V builds or they wouldn’t last a second in a dungeon.
You can transmute the legendary to any exotic and it wont loose Legendary status. Its bugged now but they are fixing it so you never loose the Legendary status.
Only thing stopping me from getting a legendary is the fact that I hate Power/Toughness/Vitality combo.
Since Legendaries are soulbound on equip anyway, why not just make it so we can choose which 3 stats it should have? Obviously excluding the ability to bring power three times, or any other duplicate stats.
I’m a guardian and I want a Bitfrost, because I enjoy full support. However, I focus primarily on Healing Power. With all the work required to get a legendary, and since we can’t trade it after using it, what’s the harm of allowing us to choose the stats. (Either via an Tempering NPC, or even an interface that allows us to do it freely?) I have my doubts about the latter, but the former would still be nice.
I’d love to have a Legendary with Healing Power/Toughness/Vitality.
Or if I went for a Greatsword, I’d use the stats my build uses: Condition Duration, Condition Damage, Power.

I think that a win-win situation for Anet/player base would be a to sell a Stat Change Tool (or something of the sort) at the gem store. I wouldn’t mind buying for under $5 for a legendary. It shouldn’t make it too expensive to change the stats that way if you exchange you gold for gems. So everyone would be happy, and I bet more people would work towards legendary weapons!

I agree to this. An easy fix to this would be to make the legendaries into applicable skins like we’ve seen these past events. So it adopts the stats of a weapon you already have.
The weapons can be transmuted easily and it keeps all it graphical properties. All you have to do is just invest in a fine transmutation stone, and if you’ve gone to the length of getting a legendary item then you can most certainly spend a couple gold and buy them… I mean the legendary weapons alone cost WAY more. This is a relatively void post because ANet has already implemented this for ALL weapons.

I understand what you’re saying and this is most definitely something ANet will have to fix even if it just means simply making weapons to keep the higher status (which should definitely be implemented) and the other point that the ascended items upgrades, can you not transmute a transmuted item. If so they would only have to implement the first point because you could continually transmute new items. However, the only purpose for creating a Legendary item is for it’s graphical properties so the Legendary status isn’t very important as an inspecting element hasn’t been added in yet which is one of the only ways for other characters to see that it isn’t still a legendary… Other than linking it into the chat
Hardly a void post, and hardly a solution if it loses legendary status, since in time, they’ll increase Legendaries to be on par with Ascended gear. Hard to do that if a Legendary is an exotic. That’d make almost all of my work for nothing, unless they want to do a runaround to find anyone who’s transmuted their weapon to a legendary’s skin, and then scale the stats up to match its ascended counterpart. It’s a lot trickier than people might think.
The point I actually wanted to make is that for all the trouble of creating a legendary, you should be able to choose 3 different stats/bonuses, which would include combinations of stats not currently available on other exotics. I can understand not allowing a full armor set of Healing / Vit /Toughness, but one weapon with Healing / Vit / Toughness isn’t going to massively unbalance the game.

Since people continue to complain about legendary weapons with a limited range of stats – it’s not fine.
More legendaries with different stats or an appropriate transmutation system would be in order here.

The ability to pick from the prefixes already present ingame would be enough. Obviously defining your own stats would be a bit much, but as it stands now with the limited choice of legendaries you either have one that matches your build or you don’t.
Maybe not even give access to every prefix and simply crafted ones, this would also give a possible method of implementing the change, throwing an orichalcum inscription (or a few) into the mystic forge with the legendary in order to switch it to those stats.
Also, I don’t think that simply adding more legendaries would help much. Yes you’d have different stats but also different appearances. In that situation it’d still be nice to change the stats of my legendary because I might prefer the stats of one over the other, but prefer the appearance of the one with the stats I don’t want.

legendarys should be fully customizable right down to dying them, stats, and even name. (they should not be able to sell one a name has changed soul or account bound and if pinged into chat or anywhere else the base name should appear instead of the altered one) the amount of crap you have to put into them merits and additional reward i think.
I see two points that are asking for unfathomable things here.
One part asks for making them customizable down to everything, and another doesn’t want them to be customizable at all.
All legendary weapons as of now have P/T/V stat combination on par with exotic version.
Why legendary wielders should be forced to give up colour/legendary written on it?
Instead of purple legendary Sunrise it will become orange transmuted Sunrise of Strength which basically kills the item name ><
There is a lot of ways to make stats of them customizable – either by mystic forging them by some recipe to change stats, or by making them special in terms of transmuting – so they keep up legendary, purple name, and no-prefix, or whatever.

I agree. If someone spends that much time and effort working towards a legendary, they should be able to put whatever stats they want on it. If they want Vitality/Vitality/Vitality all on one weapon, then they should be able to do that, because it IS a LEGENDARY weapon.
