These are changes I feel that are needed to make for a more “polished” game experience. These are my own suggestions that I’ve noticed to become standard features in MMO’s like this game that people have come to be accustomed too and should be in all games. Some of these are just critiques of already somewhat implemented features.

I have broken the list down into two sections, the top section is features that I feel need to be implemented now or in the near future (within the next month). The second section is features that could take more time and are not hindering the game play experience but would greatly enhance the experience long term.

Major Needed Additions/Changes (needed now):—-

-Friends list and guild member log-on/off chime (and chat log notice). – I never notice when friends log on and off, I shouldn’t have to check my friends list every
minute to see if someone has logged on or left.

-Whisper chime needs to be louder or have more volume control.

-AFK auto reply back from players when whispering them.

-Center Screen pop up for Party Invites. – They are not noticeable enough.

-Names of the Asura Gates on Maps and when moused over in-game from a distance.

-Allow spells to be moved within the spell bar OR allow key bindings to be character specific. – You are never going to get us to cast our spells in a “designed order”, we are going to cast our spells how ever our play style fits us best. For instance, on my guardian with the greatsword, I start off every encounter with “leap of faith”, so that should be number 1 key for me, not number 3!

-Mobile Phone Authenticator App.

-Inspect players.

-Reduce the amount charged for traveling to a near by waypoints after dieing to zero. We should not have to pay money to resurrect upon death.

-Reduce all travel costs by 1/3. At least for the next 6 months. People just started playing and we have no money. It is making it extremely difficult to travel, buy our trait books and craft.

Minor Additions/Changes (future consideration/projects):—-

-Customized Chat Window Channel Colors.

-Flashing chat tabs when chat log updates/adds new chat.

-More player to player interactive slash commands and when targeting a player, command is personalized to that target.
/nod
/clap
/cheer … etc.

-Information Entry/Index for Points-of-Interest, Vistas and other key areas. – I discover a POI but feel nothing for it. Some information in form of an interface log entry would be amazing and make the game more in depth.

-Make the Menu, scroll bar and tabs on the chat frame disappear like they do on the mini map. The hide all button is not very useful as you can’t interact with the chat frame when you scroll over it when hide is active.

-In the achievement’s window, make a list or “recent achievement’s” tab/category at the top somewhere. – I often get an achievement and don’t know what it was for, the notice disappears and I never will truly know what I just accomplished. For instance, this will often happen when I’m in a boss fight.

Thanks for you consideration of my suggestions. I hope to see some of these in game soon to help make for a more polished game experience.

-AFK auto reply back from players when whispering them.

-Names of the Asura Gates on Maps and when moused over in-game from a distance.

-Customized Chat Window Channel Colors.

The first of these (along with an option to set yourself afk) would be awesome. The second, particularly in Rata Sum, would be a godsend.

The third, to me, is a ‘why is not having this even possible?’ Private / password protected channels and channel /chat customization should be a bare minimum for any MMO chat system. Chat is the sole in-game method for player communication in GW2. It should provide a complete set of options to support things like multi-guild channels (private channel + password), and color customization.

Agreed, the chat system in this game is very, very basic. ArenaNet claimed they wanted this game to be very social friendly, yet the basic things like chatting and friends/guild list notifications are so basic or lacking I find it hard to believe when they say things like that. I feel they are saying those things just to look good, but they haven’t delivered on some very basic social aspects of the game. (and don’t even get me started with the guild system, joining a guild is pointless. This game is way to solo-able to need a guild in the first place.)
