An idea came to me today after i bought my 100’th wintersday box trying to get all of the wintersday minis for my collection (crazy gambling fool i know) but after i was through opening them all and the 50+ black lion chests that i opened one the first day of wintersday with some bl keys i got on the black Friday sale i noticed a big pile of items, somewhat useless to me, various boosts, tonics, mortars and an idea occurred to me.

There should be a way to upgrade these multitude of one use items into something day/week long or permanent, like the ability to create a permanent trade contract with 50+ single use versions and a bucket load of other ingredients (as an added gold sink) in the mystic forge.

This way the people who buy an excess of the “gamble items” and receive nothing but these one use items would be able to, with enough work turn them into the items they really seek e.g permanent or top tier versions of the items. Also for the people who have gotten the occasional bl key/bl chest items from dailies/personal storylines, it make that item extra special they would be saving it up knowing that “one more daily speical item” or if i traded some of my gold for gems i could buy that last 5 contracts i need to create a permanent one

I think this would generate more interest and less regret in buying gem store boxes/bl keys because to know even if you don’t get the item you want straight away eventually you will get it (even though it might involve 250+ orichi ingots, some mystic forge stones, 250+ of the holidays special item and 50 or so of the one use item) this will encourage people to trade gold for/buy gems to get the required one use items and create a gold sink for whatever items/ingredients needed to create the permanent version

maybe i am crazy and this might unbalance the game in some way i cant see, but its just a thought for the long term players, the ones that horde all the boots and tonics and special items in the hopes that one day they might do something more useful then provide an hour bonus or save a trip to the trading post one time.

Also on a personal note, making certain miniatures account bound and that they only drop from a RNG box that disappears after a time is a special type of cruelty for hardcore collectors, and not just the ones who do buy a lot of gems and support the game by doing so. All this practice does is make us bitter, but i am sure you have already heard a lot of complaints about this so i wont prattle on about it. I heartily do suggest and hope you take away those account bound status of those minis so we can at least buy them on the TP.
