One thing that bothers me about the NPC sellers in GW2….why do they all sell the same items? There are so many dotted about all selling the same things that it ruins the immersion completely. Also if more than one sells an item, there would be competition between traders in Lions Arch so why is it that all identical items cost the same no matter what seller you go to?

Solution: Remove some of the NPCs and those that are kept should sell different things. There can be some that sell some of the same items but the prices of these should fluctuate randomly by +-10% on a daily basis. This would create a lot more realism end actually give people a reason to go to different parts of maps looking for the best bargain.

Secondly renown karma vendors need some love. Why is it that they stock these so called ‘rare and wonderful’ items, each with their own description, when the skins are all the same (so many Asuran weapons!) and theyre never any better than the drops youre receiving while playing on that map?

Solution: Special items should have special skins, period. They should also have 5-10% better stats than the items you would normally receive in that area. This would encourage both those leveling up to use some karma rather than saving it, and would also give those already at 80 an opportunity to buy some awesome ‘named skins’ for their 80+ equipment.

Because convenience is better at keeping players than adjusting to your opinion on what might improve gameplay immersion.

If the devs had wanted all NPCs to ‘be the same’ then they wouldnt have bothered giving them different looks, styles and dialogue. Some of the banter between sellers in LA is hilarious and really brings you into the game…until you realise that theyre just there to act as a convenient hub for certain items.

How hard is it to run to a specific NPC to buy your goods in LA? Free waypoints, the fact that its a small city/town….it takes you no longer than a few minutes. Having every NPC sell the same thing is convenience for convenience sake.
