Guild Wars 2

Let’s begin with this, I love playing this game and don’t mean to hate on what Anet has created, these are just suggestions I would like to see implanted or improved into the game.

NPCs
-Something I noticed after playing a while is that a lot NPC’s are looking the same. Even named NPC’s have the same looks like others. It kinda bothers me, since Anet has a lot of customization options for NPCs. I mean every human village I walk in has the same looking farmers, villagers, fishers and merchants, it’s quite boring and characterless! Even named characters, like some scouts or whatever, look exactly the same like others in the same area. It may be a small thing, not really involving the game play, but it would definitely be cool in my opinion to improve that since it will give the world a more ‘’living’’ feeling even more!

More customization. (Hair styles/faces/bodies)
Something I am hoping for is some more customization options, I’ve read a lot of threads about people wanting more hairs styles, which I can understand, the more, the better right? Also more facial hair options would be cool, that way you can really make your character stand out more.

Also, why not make some more body and face options? A lot of faces are looking young, why not make some older looking ones for example? Also for the bodies, it isn’t really possible to make a ‘’fat’’ looking character, I would like to see some more options on face and body.

I wouldn’t mind seeing customization packs in the Gem store, which you can buy for a certain price containing for example some more face/body/hairstyle options for your characters, by buying them you simply unlock them for your account. Every race can have one, maybe even per gender. I mean since we don’t have a monthly fee to pay for, I wouldn’t mind paying for such a pack once in a while.

Mounts
I’ve seen a couple of threads about mounts, I would like to see them because waypoint costs are high. We actually don’t need highspeed mounts, just a 10-25 percent faster going mount would be great. It would be cool to collect mounts and its easier for players on endlevel to go back to ‘’low-level’’ area’s. Low speed mounts should be relatively easy to get, but the higher speed mounts really expensive or hard to get.

I really want mounts. This game doesn’t really feel like it needs them, but I really miss collecting them. Collecting mounts is usually my ‘endgame’ so I’m a bit bored now since this game has none. =/

This game does need alot more customization! There is a disturbing lack of options in the gem store to buy. When I heard gw2 was going the f2p cash shop option, I figured the shop would be packed with new things to buy every week, inlcuding gowns, faces, hair colors and styles. I’m very disappointed with it.

There is no doubt in my mind that they will not introduce mounts, as a matter effect they already did when they introduced the broom. First is was some rare Halloween drop if I remember correctly and later they permanently put it in the gem-store. I think to see what people reactions would be.

What I read about it is that ArenaNet had planned on implementing mounts but that there old GW fan-base did not like that because it would be to much WoW-like (as if only WoW has mounts). So they did not introduce them. But at this moment old GW1 players is just a part of the players so mount will come in the future.

I do hope that they will not only introduce them as gem-items because like you said. Collecting them is part of the fun and end-contend. Buying them from a gemstore is not a lot of fun. They can put some on there but most should be put in the game as a rare drop from a mob, from doing a quest, maybe even make with a craft, earning by doing achievements and so on.

If the whole point of not having Mounts is just coz “I dont want this to be a wow clone” then its a dumb and stupid rebuttal.

How is this a WOW clone if it has mounts?
So according to them Assassin’s Creed is a wow clone because you can ride on horses?

First of all running speed is slow, in world exploration you’re bound to use your profs +25% speed boost just to curb the dullness of walking and before a tough fight you switch that useless utility to something you actually need.

In dungeon fights you dont even use it.

The whole point of having an Out of Combat Speed boost with a visual aesthetic is so people can respond to events promptly by pass trash mobs and/or just enjoy the sights of the world while feeling grand on something you’ve earned.

Whens the last time you saw the gates of divinity’s reach?
Or the entrances of the other racial starting zones?

Mounts are another way of getting people to collect something that visually appeals to them without being gear treadmill.

Im a player of the first guildwars and I approve mounts.

Instead of making a new one how about posting in one of the other million mount threads that all resulted in a resounding “no”.

About the mounts, it wasn’t my main target of this thread actually, it was the limited variaty of the NPC models which quite annoy me.

I mean, you come across alot of the same looking npc models, even named characters have the same model as ’’regular’’ models, for example a named, and thus more important, sergeant has the same model as a normal sergeant.

I will post some pictures soon, that will make things alot clearer I quess, a shame I don’t have them on my pc atm!

I did read a lot of them but none of them had a resounding “no”.
You can in every threat about it find people who don’t want it but most people seem to want it.

Problem is, diceshaker, the mount part of the suggestion completely upstages your other points due to how contentious it is, thus people will jump straight to it ignoring everything else.
Thus, as it is suggesting mounts, it is the daily mount thread.

More customisation? Yes!

Mounts? Not needed and just would add clutter.
