Is it possible to get a “Name Reset” to all players who have not played on their account in 6 months or so.

I find it almost impossible to come up with a new character name.

This is unlikely, as they touted this game as one you could play, leave, and return to as you wish. While some names no doubt mean nothing to their owners, there’s no way for ANet to tell who is on hiatus in the military, or dealing with a new child, or just waiting for an eventual expansion.

I’d be glad to help you come up with a name if you wish. I’ve gotten my first pick on my last three characters made, including a one name Sylvari named Ysethe. It’s a matter of going through name sites, Old Norse dictionaries (for Norns), etc, then tweaking to something that sounds right. I’ve seldom had difficulty finding a name in any MMO that fits into the world and stands out as unlike any other name.

Here I have: Donari Mal Di Bette, Briara, Ysethe, Merra, Jin Macklin, Mirth the Mouse (real name Eilen Drury, but she hasn’t used it since a child), Ylfa Aetlaveidr (I may have spelled that last name wrong, she’s not RP’d yet, but it means Wolf Fated-Hunter), Talani Stormburn (originally Talani Razorstorm), and Lord somethingorother (a shill for someone’s RP plot). Ysethe is a variant on many an Arthurian name.

I’ll be in game later today, feel free to poke me for some help with lore-appropriate naming.

The easiest way to find a unique name is to include a last name

And for asura or sylvari, a title or something else that might identify what they do or who they are, since they do not use surnames.
Warden Lorelei, Golemancer Vatti, Valiant Svynna, Savant Mugg, this kind of stuff.
My asura is called Synergist Nitta, for example.
