After playing various amounts of WvW or PvP it has come to my attention that the ‘name plates’ of dead players are in fact, extremely annoying… I’m not sure if I’m the only one who has discovered this problem, but during and after participating in huge scale battles it sometimes becomes difficult to locate an active player among the many dead player names. I understand that dead player names can be very important, if you’re hoping to be located after death, or as a signal to enemy players that a dead player may be watching, but it would also be nice to remove them.
It would be fantastic if there was an option added to remove dead player names (I say option considering that not all players would like this removed). Even within certain parametres such as “Only remove dead player names within WvW”.
Obviously this is not a very controversal matter and may never be important enough to bother changing but it may be a fantastic ‘tweak’ to the game.

This is a very small issue but one that can easily be fixed which is why I have niglected to make a giant post on a question that can be answered short and simply.
Is this worth changing? It is in my opinion.

I spend a great deal of time in WvW, and this has never been an issue for me in the least. To be honest, I have had so little problem with anything even close to this, that I could not have fathomed this to be a problem until I ran across your post.

Honestly, I see more potential problems with not seeing downed or dead players names then I can possibly imagine the improvements would be.

Well, like I said, it is not at all a neccesaty nor am I picking holes. I fully understood from the start that this would not effect everybody. This is also why my suggestion was to add an OPTION to change this. It’s just a tweak.

On the other hand, you may find this much more annoying when player models aren’t loading or when you’re playing GvG as co-ordinated strikes cover your entire screen with effects.
