Need new "Heavy" profession to balance 3/3/2

Monk wouldnt be a heavy armour class, they would be if anything a light armoured melee / spirit energy guy. I would like to see a pikeman!
I suggest a Master at Arms. 2h specialist. 2h Axe, Pole Arms (Lucern Hammer, Bardiche, etc.).
You mean a warrior? Yeah we already have that.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
My idea for this is a "tactician " class . This class would use offensive and defensive skill sets per weapon set up kind of like attunements . each set up would also grant the chance at boon or to inflict a condition depending on your set up.
Weapons would be as follows
Main
Sword,Axe,Longbow,
Offhand
Dagger,Shield,Sword
A possible example might be
Sword Dagger offense grants a chance at poisoning a foe on dagger strikes and is purely offensive where as Sword Dagger defense grants a chance at stability every so many seconds and has more block/evade skills
Why not just salvage the GW1’s Dervish and put them into Heavy?
I don’t see anything that has to be balanced.

I don’t see anything that has to be balanced.
They are simply wanting a 3rd heavy armor class to balance the fact there are only 2 where as there are 3 medium and 3 light classes. I think its a reasonable idea but dont expect it any time soon do to development play testing and balance stuff. I merely put an idea forward for a possible way to look at the new heavy class
Currently 3 light, 3 medium, 2 Heavy. Could use a new heavy, I know I wouldn’t mind having one. Personally I would like to see the Fighter based Monk but I think balance of armor types is more useful.
I suggest a Master at Arms. 2h specialist. 2h Axe, Pole Arms (Lucern Hammer, Bardiche, etc.).
“Master at Arms” aye?
I’m sorry but isn’t that what the warrior is meant to be?
Monk from GW1 was a holy caster – healing and holy magic. Most of these elements were included into the guardian who is a conglomeration of these Guild Wars 1 professions – monk (holy caster), dervish (holy warrior), paragon (inspiring general).
Classes in GW1 are designed around vaguely specific class ideas. Their names are very vague but the play style and design behind them is very specific. Also it seems to be ANet’s policy to avoid adjectives in profession names and try to keep it down to 1 word.
If they were to take the original concept for the engineer as a heavy armour wearing class and rework it then we could have something like an artificer pop up. Perhaps magically infused tech and heavy armour – rifle, pistols, staff, sceptre, focus, mace, shield, hammer.
Consider it!
