Pretty much what the title says. It needs some adjustments in timing and duration. Typing quickly and trying to hold a legitimate conversation, even in closed areas where other players’ chatlogs aren’t nearly as much of a concern, has often led to being stifled entirely. I’ve resorted to using /e when it happens, and then -that- gets locked out too.
I understand it’s well-intentioned and would never ask for it to be removed, but tone it down a little? At least for my sanity’s sake?

Agreed. I’ve been suppressed for thanking people for resing me when downed during a DE. I’ve also had to ask other party members to LFG in /map chat because after a couple of tries that were more than adequately spaced apart I was suppressed.
The suppression itself also seems to last too long.
Well, despite being a real deal of active talker, I’ve rarely got suppressed by it.
My hate time was when I used a macro to purchase 250(ash spy kits :P)(basically fast click in same spot)
and accidentally held CTRL…

It could use a nerf. It’s nice that we don’t have listen to the same guild post 50 times an hour or the same gold spammer for hours on end, however, it could be a little more lax.
That said though, it’s also pretty easy to work around in the meantime. I’ve never run into a problem while actually holding a conversation. Just don’t post the same thing over and over again. If you’re LFG or LFM, change up the message a little every time. The suppression feature (as far as I can tell) only checks to see if you’ve been posting the same message repeatedly. Capitals don’t count as changing it, by the way. Also, avoid posting it repeatedly, wait until it is off the screen or has been several minutes. (Off the screen with the chatlog toggled on!) That’s kept me from becoming suppressed for the most part.
