New Classes?
I’d like to see a full oriented dps class, without support or defensive utilities, just raw dps or magic dps. A violent glass cannon class for clearing dungeons faster killing everything :P
Aha Maybe One Of Each, Something Epic That You Gotta Earn Or Buy Whatever Lol So Not Everybody Specs To It At Once .
Well firstly, they probably will never make a “Healing Focused Support Class” since it goes against the philosphy of their class system.
Asking if they will ever implement a new class is like asking if they will ever release another update. Of course a new class will come, but don’t expect it anytime soon. Maybe next expansion?
That’s simply what i was wondering, haha (:
can i ask you a favor? don’t capitalize every single word. it’s distracting and actually makes it hard to read your post. it’s almost like TyPiNg LiKe ThIs.
Making a support class would ultimately lead to healers in the game, which would stomp on anets idea that every class is self sufficient. Support oriented things like that can already be achieved through the superior rune of dwayna, which regenerates allies when you use a healing skill. there are also lots of traits that already give that availability too. Like mesmer phantasms grant regeneration to nearby allies and mesmers can also cast mantras and heal allies nearby. adding an entire class that focuses entirely on support would be too close to a healing class and it would break the new trinity that anet has made for this game.
I am looking forward to a possible unveiling of the chronomancer. While summoners and ritualists already have replacements in game, the chronomancer looks like a viable class that could be added into the game via an expansion into the continent planned for GW utopia.
I highly doubt they will add new classes, they will most likely add new weapons and give classes more weapons to use. Why add a Druid when you can give a Ranger a staff?

they’ve already come up with lots of great things for the chronomancer that was supposed to be introduced in the original GW2. of all the potential new classes, i think the chronomancer would be the most viable, since already a lot of work was done for it.
There is a good chance of having new professions and races. http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/2094-room-for-future-races-and-classes/page__st__60#entry89820

I still think, classes are extremely static.
They can barely do anything but deal damage. And the “support” with buffs and cc, is basically besides the damage dealing, and not a full role by itself.
So basically they destroyed trinity, but give us a new trinity that is just 1 role….its worse.
The good side is you dont care what class or role you bring, but it does not mean classes have to be 1 dimensional.
Design the classes to be able to fill any role instead of taking away roles. And make players be able to play any role, but NOT FORCE them.
I would love to see new classes, i kind of hate the current ones….all of them.

your idea=trinity build which = no show in GW2. No profession currently is fixed onto a role which is excellent in numerous ways. (No searching for a role no one likes playing such as healer, no limitations on what kinda play style you like just because you picked Warrior or necromancer or w/e, and forming parties is much easier.) More classes would be nice but if they were to be added, it would need to be something completely new and worthwhile and above all, NOT over powered. Many people have posted great suggestions on new Profession ideas with skills, cooldown and duration values, as well as names and what kinda resource they use(cooldown, something like initiative, etc.)
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”
Don’t get me wrong i wouldn’t mind getting new classes but i would like to see new weapons implemented to the current proffession like actual scythe weapons or on land spears (paragon anybody xD)
I just wish the game would quit trying to be a WoW clone and be a GW2 Sandbox as promised.
I think they could implament Paragon because it’s paystyle was so differant and Monk, not the monk we all know and love from gw1, but similar in some aspects however give it fist weapons make it more martial arts based I guess like monk from d3/RO… Dervish was pretty differant aswell, it could be based around melee 2 handed weapons add scyth to the mix, maybe a staff. give it the avatars that humans don’t already have for elites.

They’ve already implemented the Paragon, it’s called the Guardian. Anet have said that the Guardian is the spiritual descendant of the Paragon and not the Monk. Also, Dervish are unique only to the human race because they specifically deal with transformations into avatars of the human gods, and since they wont add race specific classes, the best chance of getting a dervish in the game would be to give a scythe to the guardian in conjunction with another class, because they’re not going to make a weapon for just a single class to use.
I don’t think new classes will happen anytime soon, the current ones pretty much covered every single fantasy class-type that exists.
Guardian > priest, paladin, cleric, monk
Warrior > fighter, berserker, sword saint
Ranger > hunter, druid
Thief > rogue, swashbuckler, assassin
Elementalist > mage, wizard, sorcerer
Mesmer > witch hunter, duelist
etc.. I’m sure I missed a ton.
etc.. I’m sure I missed a ton.All possible fantasy professions types except death knight are covered, and I really don’t think anet is going to copy that from WoW as first new profession just like they did.

Ranger kind of already covers it, but I’d love to see a shapeshifting druid profession with nature magic. The profession mechanic would be four forms to shapeshift into F1-4, F1 being human form, and F2-4 being three animal/beast forms that each grant 5 weapon skills. No weapon swapping, would only get to use staff and trident.
