Hi All,

Guild Wars 2 in my opinion has great armor design and it’s very open minded with the possibility it offers for showing/hiding certain parts of it.

That being said, my suggestion is due to the fact that manny of the armors tend to be very different between Male and Female, and I propose that a new option is created (having a new icon for Male/Female inside each equipment) that let’s us change the design for one equipment to the gender selected.

The idea was originally created as a way to solve the problem that happened when many members of my guild disliked how Females had only “Pop Idol” designs mostly and lacked male style’s. It’s not that there are no options, but it’s a fact that there are very few.
Vice versa, for any man that wants to dress as, let’s say in example “Drag Queen” (Why not?) can suit themselves. With only adding this option, the game can duplicate it whole equipment options available for each character.

Please tell me your thoughts about this Idea?

I think it’ll be a great addition to the game.
I hope I’m not the only one who has this problem, but I play only with male characters because I don’t like any of the female armor on offer. And when something like that becomes an obstacle to use and enjoy your characters, it should be addressed.
I know that many people like this JPop Idol or Gothic Lolita style, as well as miniskirts, corsets, tops and ribbons, but the designs of the female armor is way too oriented to that public and it feelsl ike it ignored the other side of the stick: those who want trousers, tunics or dresses that cover from neck to ankles with no exposed parts in the middle. I want to run around dressed as a nun or as a something as kitten as a male necromancer and I can’t because i have very few choices.
Furthermore, I felt extremely dissapointed with some sets. The male version of some armor is gorgeous, but when I go to buy the exact same equipment for women I find her dressed to go to highschool or to do a sailor moon cosplay, and in no way resembles the male counterpart.
That’s why an option to make you able to decide whether I want my lady warrior to use kitten male armor or sassy female armor will solve that problem. If you want to go to war in a miniskirt, you can! If you want to go to war and make your enemies wonder if they’re looking at a man or a at woman, you can too!
I ignore how much trouble it’d be to do something like that, but if it’s possible it’ll make this game even better than what it actually is.

This is actually an interesting idea. It would address, for females, the situation where the male/female armor versions are very different (read covered vs. uncovered). If a person wants to dress their character in the opposite sex’s armor why not?

The opposing gender’s armour meshes would have to be reworked to fit both male and female characters which would take time. However, anything that offers more armour options can only be a good thing IMO.

This would take a lot of time for very little (I feel) advantage.

They would have to rework the male armor models to fit females (breasts would require the armor have a different model, and possibly different hip sizes would do the same) and vice-versa to fit female armor to males. It’d be a pretty signifigant model adjustment.

Yeah, though I don’t imagine how specific difficulties this may bring, I often imagine the process they made to fit the same armor between an Asura, a Norn, and a Char, and then this seems not too crazy compared to that challenge.
