i was very exited to read this yesterday! id like to add, please consider specific traits for the Norn animal forms and the Asura Hazmaat suit and Golems so that players wishing to focus a build around these skill would be able too.

Oh my, racial traits would be superb, but it would diversify the game and force players to pick a race for their class which is something ANet specifically said they wouldn’t want.

did they say forcing players to pick a race was something they wanted to avoid? – suppose that does seem the case with the way race is currently implemented, but dont you think it might be time to add a bit more weight behind race ? currently some of the coolest elites skills have no bite because of this

They said a lot of stuff they went back on; I would actually welcome this.

It would be awesome (well, my personal wish), if they packed those new skills and traits in a system like sub-classes.

The concept would look like this: Every class can choose 1 of 2 sub-classes at Lvl 60 (can vary) which are exclusive for their class. Depending on which one you choose, you get access to unqiue skills and traits and the sub-class itself brings a small bonus.

Example on Warrior:
Sub-class 1: Knight – Increases boon duration by 20%. Exclusive traits and skills
Sub-class 2: Berserker – Increases adrenaline gain of hits. Exclusive traits and skills.

What you think?

I think the Anet already said they wouldn’t do that. I could be wrong. I think its kinda cool, but at the same time I feel like that would have to be something permanent so you wouldn’t switch between the skills. I think they want to keep builds open to change.

Actually its not a bad way of going about it at all, however i would be happy with something as simple as: depending on the elite skill you choose you then get a new trait that corresponds to your elite, that way you could customise things like damage vs. skill duration vs cool down etc..there probabaly lots of ways to go about it. I do though still want Norn animal forms and Asura power suit/and golems getting their own trait lines, cause then i might actually want to use them – and they deserved to be alot better from the start.
