New and old weapon choices for more classes

I think the classes should have more weapon choices, because sticking with a few can be boring over long periods of time. Take the warrior class, for example. They have a lot of weapon choices, and ALOT of different skills to fit the players style. Now let’s look at the engineer; the poor sods only got a weapon choice between a rifle, pistol and a shield (And some bundles).

So here are some suggestions:

Halberd (weapon) is a viable option here, it fits the lore well and it can be fit into many roles.

Overwater spears can be nicely used by many professions.

Two handed war axes can be a very nice addition to the weapons.

Scythes should be an own weapon class. The Dervish profession in GW1 had scythes. Scythes, make it happen.

Now here are some weapons that the other professions can use:

Engineer – Hammer

Ranger – Rifle (i know it does not “fit the lore”, but ranger and rifle fits hand in hand.)

Warrior – War axes

Mesmer – Dagger (off-hand) and halberd

Elementalist – Sword (main-hand)

Guardian – Longbow (Supportive skills) and halberd

Necromancer – Scythe

Thief – Rifle (long range skills, because thieves really have no option if another profession is shooting at it with 1200 range.)

There is alot to argue with here. I know for example that thieves are using stealth to reach their target, but think about how a “sniper” thief would be. Alot more build options for all professions. I know that all those new weapons is alot to ask for, but it can be used as templates for future projects.

Thanks for the time.

Necromancer – Scythe

I honestly have no problems with most of these, just right off the bat. I think that on the Necromancer, though, I actually like that the staff does the shadowy scythe thing when you cast. That being said, if I had a scyte, I would definitly be as grim reapered out as possible.

Thief – Rifle

I don’t like this one because the Thief isn’t really supposed to be a sniper-class. They need to be up close and personal, in my opinion. This almost feels like it needs to be a whole separate profession, not an option for a current one.

Ranger – Rifle

As you said, it doesn’t fit the lore, I don’t feel like it’s a good route to take. I personally don’t like the feel of it, but beyond that would we take away the longbow, or keep it and give them two long-rang weapons?

Halberd (weapon) is a viable option here, it fits the lore well and it can be fit into many roles.

Overwater spears can be nicely used by many professions.

Two handed war axes can be a very nice addition to the weapons.

Scythes should be an own weapon class. The Dervish profession in GW1 had scythes. Scythes, make it happen.

All of these, individually, sound like decent ideas, I can certainly say +1, here.

Ability is what you can do; Motivation is how much you do; Attitude is how well you do it.

NO, rifle for rangers. I’m no solider – I’m a RANGER. I’d much rather prefer a staff!
