New cool set idea I've found
Credit to whoever made it, and I wanted Anet to make something similar to this for new sets in the game. Let’s call it Lunar set
So your “idea” for set is stole skin from somewhere else?

He didn’t say it was his idea. He said it was an “idea he’s found”.
Looks pretty neat. However, there’s 4 sets there.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Looks good. I’m for any set where the Medium armor is NOT a trenchcoat or tail flap. With so little rain in the world, why are 4/5 of my choices limited to that?

A reverse image search reveals this is concept art from Aion.
Doing anything remotely similar to this would unfortunately put Anet in a lot of trouble.
But I do agree that we need more than trench coats for medium armor
Another anime armor skin? No, No, No, No. We’re already flooded by shiny-garbage looking sets with fairy wings, no need for another crap.

Wow… how do you initiate a reverse image search?

When I see such awesome looking character/armor design, I sometimes wish GW2 could be “a bit” more like this, when I do look at what armor designs GW2 currently has, where nothing reaches at all this kind of “epic stylishness” that this concept art is radiating.
Why people are always thinking on anime", when concept arts look like character that could be extracted out of some kind of fantasy book, is way beyond me.
Some Armors liek these designs there would make up perfectly for “Legendary armory”, when it would come together with some animated particle effects like giving the character some kind of dark aura together with sparkling light trails that look like glimmering stars and a glowing “Moon” or something similar.. these effects could occur, when it would be nighttime in Tyria.
This together with an “Sun” orientated counterpart armor set, that has special effects at daytime …
God, this would be awesome.
Its totally regardless from where this armor design is, be it Aion, be it WoW, be it perfect World, or what ever …
I think its important, that when it comes to implementing new weapon/armor designs ect. its absoliutely not forbidden to take INSPIRATION from other games at least to find new ideas for new items for the own game.
Its naturally absolutely 100% sure, that there will be never ever any kind of 1:1 copies in GW2 of any armor/weapon whatever that is originally to be found in any other game, movie, anime whatever just because of the copyright issues that could come with that, but theres nothing wrong with it to get at least inspirations from something.
And I personally would find it absolutely cool, if we coold ever see something “similar” like this to be found in GW2 as ascendant/legendary armor as these kind of concept arts are absolutely epic and very stylish. They are eyecatchers not just only on paper, but for sure also when being ingame.
It isn’t also, as if GW2 hasn’t had ever already too “anime styled” concept arts for armor/classes ect.
Just look at this:

One of the earlier fancy looking anime-ish Sylvari concept arts

(one where I’d say for my personal taste Id would have been nicer if they’d look all like this :P.. less plantlike, more mystical/beautiful)
Everything is just a matter of which kind of “target group” you want to reach with your art design/character design, but only because a concept art has some kind of anime style doesn#t make the concept art bad at all, because only a concept art being of anime-style, doesn’t mean that the end result of that concept art in the game must end up in the same style.
Every concept art is always only a help for inspiration, not a confirmation for 100% 1:1 implementation of what the concept art showed.

Input the address of an image in Google and on top of the result, it will say: “For matching images, try search by image”
In my opinion, it’s not a problem to create shiny bling bling armor everyone will be wearing because it reveals kittens. The real piece of imagination, design and art is to create a non-shiny armor which looks adult, is actually an armor and is based upon atmosphere of place where you loot it, type of it, etc. I’ll post some pictures tomorrow since atm I’m unable to due to my mobile.

amazing art
More knee-high boots for men? I approve.
I can definitely get behind some of these concepts. I do like trenchcoats, but that is only because my main wears one and it’s right on him. It’s not so right for my theif, my nor my engineer, so it would be nice to have something else out there for medium armor. The suit look is pretty nice too.
Honestly I’m not entirely sure why medium armor has different pants since almost no coats let you see the pants.
