Guild Wars 2

Hi,

After I played Word of Warcraft for 7 years, Guild Wars 2 is my second MMO which I like very much for all most everything, the play style, the world, the graphics, the combat, one thing bothers me is that I really want to have more faces and hairstyles to choose, I’m an Asian, and most of those buit-in options feel bit too wild and hard, and not pretty at all, Asian people likes soft and tender females, I tried Tera for some month, it can make prettier Asian faces but the overall characters are bit too lusty…

maybe we can sell more faces/hairstyles in gem store like the dyes ?

Yes, yes, yes! SWTOR has a lot of stuff like this in their ‘gem store’ and it works! Makes all the sense in the world to add stuff like that in there. Actually USEFUL stuff! Make it happen! clapclap

They really do need more faces, hair, horns, facial hair. If they add more I believe it should either be free (since existing characters need to buy make over kits) or sell them as packs and not a single face, and it would be for an account unlock.
They added two new Born beard options which is nice, but we need much much more.

While I agree more customization would be nice, the game is built around certain races that look a certain way. The fact that it doesn’t allow the look of any one or other races that actually exist in the world doesn’t really matter.

GuardianOMS.8067, while I would slightly agree with you on your opinion of faces… you have to look at it, just as in our world, as faces are pretty much just as unique as snowflakes… As well, i would not be against an infinite amount of hairstyles/beards/horns/leaves/etc<—— that just makes sense. I am a GLUTTON for customization in games, and though i don’t care to terribly much about the game Champions Online (as well as, what i would consider, a free online mmorpg), I can spend, and have spent HOURS upon HOURS customizing characters, i think i as well had soulcalibur V for a week, and spent over 40 hours in the Character customization area of the game. There is NEVER a downfall to offering more customization options you will ONLY increase possible income from your game. This comment and this thread should honestly be taken into consideration with the thread about the wardrobe issues and possible solutions that could be had.

Yea, in our world we also don’t have only five races. And in Tyria there are no Charr-Asura. The races are distinct and confined to their looks as typically full-blooded people are, something that is not typical in our world. The game is not meant to represent our world in likeness, races, facial features, or looks.

I would say a downfall could be artistic vision. If everyone can look just any ol’ way, how is one race different from another other than being a humanoid cat or mole? There are already games that allow you to create your own character and they give the reasons why.

I know I’ve said this but I’ll say it again, I’m a big fan of full customization. But I can see why there is no need for it, and even as a want, it is a low priority. I’d much rather have more armor options than faces.

We’re waiting for this update as the very basic element of making an unique character.

• New Hairstyles
• New Beardstyles
• New Body Textures (including more, different kind of muscle draw, patterns, and something that special for Humans there… we lack that special something!)
• New Tattoos
• Scale option for hair & beard (Like in AION or the best: APB)
• Unique upgrades for special dual/tricolors, irises.

And we hope when they release a +50 pack, they give us a free Total Makeover Kit each account.

So you are saying that u are fine looking EXACTLY the same facially as every other 8th-10th person at least? not saying that we have to go to the extreme but at least a bit more would be better.

I agree more face, body and hairstyles is needed, but those of who are are clamoring for free kits are just being naive. If Anet releases another makeover kit, it will be featured in the gem store.

If they introduce some new styles (new asura hair pls!) it will probably unique to makeover kit. Which is fine imo.

Wow. That’s not what I’m saying at all. People who look the same are those who don’t tweak the sliders. They just pick a default then roll with it. I’ve yet to see anotuer sylvari that looks like my mesmer’s face or even similar. And I do look. I’m saying that adding faces for the sole purpose that “there aren’t enough Asian features” or “why cant I look like x race” is a bit asinine.
