So I have an idea for a new cash shop item that came about because I (completely my own fault, I know) equipped my Laurel reward amulet on a character that I really did not want to equip it on. So now I have an ascended amulet on a character that I don’t run fractals with. Great.

At the moment, the only way that you can transfer soulbound items between your own characters is to use a transmutation stone and put the item on to a “white” piece of matching gear. However this only keeps the skin of the item and destroys the stats (You also cannot transmute jewellery so in my case, I’m doubly up the creek).

This scenario is extremely annoying, and I know that its only 20 days and a monthly for another amulet, but it would be nice if there was a way that we could easily take a soulbound item and make it account bound so that it can remain useful for a different character.

One possible solution to this that I have thought of was a cash shop item that you apply to a piece of soulbound gear on character A and it becomes account bound. You can then transfer your gear through the bank to character B and re-equip, making the item soulbound to character B.

I would imagine that these cash shop items would cost more than transmutation stones, possibly 1/100 gems or 3/250 gems.

These items would streamline the process that is needed to move gear between characters and also reduce the “pigeon-holed” feeling that is currently building up around ascended gear and end game whilst still gaining revenue for Anet.
What do you guys think?

Good idea, sometimes you might equip it on a wrong character. When I craft something on warrior and want to give it to guardian I super careful not to equip it by mistake, as both of them look exactly the same. It would be nice and profitable.

I love this idea. remove exploiting for workarounds on existing methods and allow us to do what we want with our gear while giving the company more money.

but it’s already been soulbound, so there’s no way for another character to even infuse it, right?

No, the character that has the item bound to it can put it in the mystic toilet and make it into an infused ring, basically creating a new ring that is no longer soulbound..
Again, not sure if it works for amulets, but it does for rings.. so it should.

I LIKE IT! I missed costumes in gw1 where you can make them for all your characters wish they bring that back.
also sorry for hijacking your thread but…what is the point of the in-between kits? its either basic or Black Lion kit. I have terrible luck with the Master(rare) salvaging kit making Black LIon (exotic) salvaging kit a necessity. Make the cost of them cheaper or better deals please~ either increase the amount of salvage or make them cheaper…
