Anet and NCsoft,

While I know you are all very busy and this game is free to play, I just thought it would be pretty awesome way for gamers to support Hurricane Sandy Victims. I’m pretty sure Im not the only person who would buy gems to support Hurricane Sandy.

Just curious what other gamers think about this sort of idea?

I think its not a virtual item that is going to help you physically nor financially in real life and some people could see it more as the company is mocking these kind of real life events by doing it ingame.

They could release a set of orrian minipets.

Two words: Red Cross.

If you get a third-party company involved with relief efforts, there’s not a doubt that they won’t keep a portion of the profits for themselves. I’ve seen some game companies’ attempt at charitable work and it is less than charitable, for the charities anyway. The worst one, I recall, had given less than 2% of the funds collected to its respected charity.

Ive donated to Red Cross. I still think it is plausible to sell an in game mini that for a price where all proceeds would go to victims. While I know there are companies out there that may not be honest that doesn’t mean that NCsoft or Anet would follow in those foot steps.

Like I said its just a suggestion that some people could get behind. How is wearing pink and selling raffle tickets to get special in game prizes helping cancer? (just going off your logic) This coming from someone who has had family die and an aunt who has survived breast cancer TWICE.

You want to know how it works? Faith that in this world there are still honest people wanting to do good and support a healthy cause.
