New siege and constructs. Ideas?

Carts to load up supplies on to be able to build sieges easier. Field cannons. Something to ride on to get people from one point to another rather than waypoints. Maybe one of those stairs that let people over a wall. Tents and fires for 1 supply each just for fun.

Rams with shield coverings to protect it and users against falling arrows. ;-/
Also makeshift barricades. Just pile those supplies up like sandbags and make them bust their way past!

COVERED RAM: 100 supplies needed, is like a golem You enter in it and you are invulnerable until the rams is destroyed. Double Health than normal rams.
ATM 2 Elementalist can easily avoid 10-15 ppl using rams for takin a tower.

Love to see some shielding pure defensive siege. Maybe an Asura mini golem that can activate bubble shields as needed. It would need to be balanced but it would be cool to see to increase defense.
Engineer should be able to repiar Siegeweapon, the cost should be 50% off build cost and with 3 steps, so if you repair a arrowcart it max repiar cost would be 15supply and you then have damage 1-33% = 5supply 34-66% = 10supply 67-99% 15supply.
How about a new npc? The sapper, can be used to weaken walls, purchased at your base. Escort quest to kill/protect him, if he survives for 5minutes at enemy location (you could choose) then he temporarily reduces wall/door hp, or perhaps he disables doors so that people can’t port in for 5 minutes,, disables cannons/oil for 5min, you get the idea.
For the defensive, think of towers in SB. Giving a blanket AE buff, but constantly draining while on. So you hire a specific mercenary and as long as they patrol the walls applying their buff they drain supply. Have a sylvari windmaker who reduces enemy projectile damage by 10%. Mack das Messer, a grizzled old mercenary who will increase the damage for all dagger and 1h sword skills while he is active. Legless the archer, with his flowing blond hair, and no legs. Luckily his ettin sidekick HURRDURR (its all he ever says) carries him everywhere, so he can still shoot, and give a damage buff to all short and longbow skills. Only one npc can be hired at a time (they are fickle) and the choice would go to whomever claimed the tower/keep/garrison.

What if there was a support siege site, like a moveable platform that you can place siege on TOP of and it would be able to move, maybe at the same speed of a golem. Could be used to make moveable siege, notably a treb on a wall could be moved to reposition. I would say make it the same supply requirement as a golem so people don’t make as many just so golem becomes over shadowed by moving rams/catapults.
Siege Platform – 100 Supply. Move speed similar to a golem, but not able to take portals. Imagine 10 superior arrow carts popping up out of a portal.

I’d like to see some form of a cart that you could buy, and load manually with supply, and pull back to a destination.
Ever wish that random people wouldn’t remove supply from a tower/keep?
I think it’d be something amusing. Buy a cart pattern, use supply to build it, load with supply, walk kinda how a dolyak does, and ONLY the NPC worker can remove supply. Heck it might even help avoid trolls using supply, sabotage, ect…

Personally I’d love to see the Iron Legion sniper rifles to be a siege weapon for something like 20 supply, they basically act as ballistas without the knockback
They’re stationary so they’d make sense imo.
Other than that, maybe an explosive cache that gives players demolitions kits from the Claw of Jormag event for sieging gates. These could be limited to 10-15 uses for 10-20 supply

I agree some smaller type siege would be nice.
Maybe something like a telescope or observation tower to help with trebs.
or a little scanner post that will reveal enemies that get close.
Some type of small buildable wall to run behind to get cover from ballistas.
For big siege I think an airship would be awesome. It would take tons of supplies to build and could only get shot down from some type of Anti-Air siege cannons that maybe could only be built inside keeps. The airship would just slowly circle the map and allow ppl to “drop pod” down from it and maybe commanders could even call in airstrikes. Maybe even ship to ship battles.
There was a forum suggestion thread somewhere that brought up crafting siege weapons.

The PAGM or Portable asuran Gate module basically a siege that could be deployed on the battle field and once constructed offers a gate in point from another PAGM from the same team only 2 could be built at one time. they could be used defensively or offensivly. Then they could nerf Mesmer Portal to like 5 only\without totally removing that strategy from the game and give it a fair option for all classes to pull a siege port.
Barricades (such as the roadblocks that bandits and centaurs build in PvE) are the best idea in the thread so far. Very easily implemented, as well.
They should have a significant amount of health, requiring 3-6 people at least one full minute to destroy and cost 20 supply to build. Would add a fun new element to defending towers and keeps which already have locations where a barricade would fit perfectly.

A lot of people complain about class balance because of mesmers being extremely viable so i guess ill toss out some ideas for class balance which will probably be awful but guess itll get the topic started. maybe some kind of skill thats wvw specific such as engineer with a new skill that increases range on treb/cata by 500, or increases velocity of sieges by 2. Elementalists with ability to conjure 15 second sieges and 90second cooldown or buildsites that require more supplies or even siege that has a set amount of use like 3 uses. Guardians that can provide 5 seconds of invul to siege weapons/gates/walls? Warriors that can buff siege weapons by 25% attack and defense.
back on topic, how about friendly siege ropes on towers/keeps that lets you climb up to walls. unfriendly ladders/ropes seems extremely OP as you would just use that as a bypass through t3 keeps ninja style.

Guardians and eles already can block incoming projectiles on siege. I agree that engineers should have something to do with siege too, either repair them or buff them.
As for another idea it would also be awesome if you could set up bases, but this would only be of use if the maps were bigger.

I think its a great idea in general but i see it as easily exploitable where people could break an outerwall, then build it, linking their spawn spot where they could easily port supplies in from other keeps/garrison as well as numerous body counts. It would hurt the outnumbered team alot. But in it’s defense i guess i could see people using it defensively and building one at set keep and building numerous siege as well as spawning back instantly into that keep as well.

yes guardians can already block it so this skill might be kind of useless except for keep gates, where a couple of guardians can stall a golem rush on a gate. 10 guardians with 50seconds of invul is kind of OP, so i guess the opposing team needs to do the same to their golems to protect them as well.
1) Sapping
Dig underground to break down walls. Takes a lot of resources to build, but once finish the wall falls instantly.
2) Siege tower
Very slow moving siege weapon. But it has a ton of hp. Once it gets to the wall the attackers can get on the walls instantly.
3) Basic Wooden Walls
Cheap and easy to build walls that are used to delay enemies. They have 500,000 hp but takes full damage from any source. They are easily destroyed but only takes 1s and 2 supplies to build.
There is no way to get onto the basic wooden walls.
The direction of the wall cannot be changed once its built.
The walls are neutral to all after its built. So the builders’ allies can damage it.
4) Advanced Wooden Walls
Thicker wooden walls with more health. They even comes with a small ladder at the back to allow the defenders to get onto it.

ladders are a bit OP. Unless they are a slow climb with 95% change of falling (to death with normal death penalty)
Then I could agree to those.
Siege towers even more so… Unless siege towers need to be constructed in a keep or better, and rolled in to action slower than the golems. Then those would be agreeable.
Basically, anything that can get you instantly inside without need to siege is OP. (If you don’t siege, are they really siege weapons?)

If you can make ladder then denfenders should be able to go get burning oil at supply depoy in a bucket run to were ladder is and dump it on climbers, the oil is only usable for 60sec after you pic it up.
Defensive Wall: Exactly what it sounds like. An upsidedown-L shaped wooden wall. Obstructs enemy ranged attacks, and arrow carts. Suffers no damage from said attacks, but siege weapons do still cause damage.
Dolyak Reins: This dolyak can be leashed to most other siege, to make them mobile. Obviously Treb’s cannot be moved. The leashed Dolyak can then be led (or ridden?!) around, slowly transporting the siege. Movement speed is the normal dolyak march.
Offensive:
Wooden Fortification – 20 supplies. Small wall that can provide protection from the frontal attacks. Hit points similar to flame ram.
Battle Doylak – 80 supplies. Mobile doylak with some armor plates and small ballista at the back. Very slow, low rate of fire.
Giant Asuran Laser – 200 supplies. 1 time use only (or fires once per minute), deals extreme damage to gates/walls.
Deffensive:
Fire Pot ( or something like this) – 10-20 supplies. Players with ranged weapons near it deal extra damage with chance to inflict burn condition.
Charr Sniper Rifle (like TheComet said) – 20 supplies, can be placed only on walls. Long range, low rate of fire.

I’d like to see something to protect projectiles flying from above, with every block/usage, the seige deteriorates… Everything else would be icing on the top.
A bomb dispenser (could use a better name) – Basically, a big container full of bombs that players can place or throw at gates, enemy siege equipment, etc. Similar to the explosive caches used during the Claw of Jormag fight. Make them timed (again, like the ones on the claw fight) so that the dispenser cant be built miles away and used to take out a gate.
I also like the idea of road blocks/barricades listed above. Not only would it give you an option for slowing dolyaks, but it would provide more incentive for defenders to escort them. There would have to be some kind of limit however, or the roads would be littered with these things.
