Well, thought about posting this suggestion, since we have no thematic weekends, what about turning DR down for the period of weekend (lets say except dungeon end rewards) so people can have fun at least during weekends? I think that turning DR down 2 days of the week wouldn’t hurt the economy that much and people could enjoy the awesome drop rates once again in a while (read “at least grind Orr properly”). I could be severely mistaken though, but just wanted to suggest a way to make this game fun again

Actually, there are a few concepts here that are seemingly broken that I’m not so sure what (if any) can fix it.

“Farming” is a generally distasteful thing in my mind. The entire implication of going through the motions of something just for the reward is not only takes any implied fun or entertainment out of what your doing but makes the activity more of a ‘job’ rather than something that is done for fun/pleasure.

Players are naturally flocking to whatever activities that yield the highest rewards for the least amount of player effort. Instead of picking content that is ‘most fun’, ‘most entertaining’ or ‘most challenge’ we have ‘most reward for time invested’.

I can’t think of or even if there is a fix for that. Maybe its not broken.

Because it’s common sense for everything from electrons to liquids to human beings to take the path of least resistance. ‘Fun’ is subjective but cash/hour is objective.

I would like a “Treat the players as though they have a modicum of intelligence” day, where dev’s answer questions on forums with short simple and clear answers.
Failing that I’d setting for no DR weekends.

DR exists for a reason, they’re not just going to randomly turn it off at certain points. They don’t want people to farm a single location endlessly at all, saying “Well you can farm these couple specific days but not any other time” would be silly.

And if they were for some reason going to, having it disabled only on weekends would be lame. While weekends are the most active time, there are people who don’t play on weekends but only during the week.

This is a BAD IDEA!!!! Your giving the Botters the opportunity to farm with no DRs? Really?? Seriously?? Bad Idea. And believe me…they aren’t gone. Not by far….Ehmry Bay is loaded with them. Been following them day in & day out now for the past 6 days and they are still farming in Cursed Shore & other areas like nobodies business. And ANet has yet to remove them. They follow the same exact pattern every day. No change. It’s a real shame that ANet doesn’t put some people in charge of this aspect of the game that monitors the botters and their activities as soon as they are reported. I have quite a list on my F-List showing these guys being online 24/7. And for the past 6 days they are still online. Maybe ANet needs to HIRE some professional botters that know what to look for and how identify botters by just watching them. Lord Knows if an ignorant like me can see the simplicity of the botters pathing I’m sure it should be more obvious to anyone else that knows what to look for.

So Intermittent or Weekend DRs?? No Way…not until the Botters are 100% removed from this game will I give my vote for it.
