At this moment GW2 have very annoying way for transmutation. You cannot collect some rare skins (like from events), but only carry one and destroy another.
Simple example, on each new event developers adding new skin for a back item. Just imagine that one day I want to carry one skin, and next day another one – same way as I can use dye. But instead of just changing skin I should destroy previous one, and there is no way to save it.
When I was playing WoW and they introduce transmutation, there was some complains that you should keep all items in bank. GW2 doesn’t give even such a choice.. That leads me to just wearing one skin forever and that is annoying..

So I just hope (and suggest) that ArenaNet will add some kind of wardrobe for rare skins that you can use with the same transmutation stones (for gems) and everyone will win. I will be happy by changing skins more frequently, ArenaNet will be happy by earning my money that I spend on gems for this.
