Obsidian Sanctum Farmers
It’s a WvWvW jumping puzzle, it’s meant to be a hostile area. While I understand your frustration, as jumping puzzle campers are extremely irritating, it’s just a matter of life.

pvp on a pvp map … who woulda thunk it.
I can also understand your concerns, however if you want to do the puzzle or simply the achievement you can be proactive you side to.
Join up with other people? Do some research, how can you make it better for yourself, did you know that there are regular portals to the top?
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
There’s also a very good reason to stop the enemy doing the jumping puzzle: they get siege for doing it.
Personally, I find PvP in the EB JP to be some of the most exciting, interesting PvP in the game.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
I had a different suggestion. Which is how to make people use the traps instead of making giant zergs to grief the the single player who is taking a spot in the WvW just there to get 100% map and all the jumping puzzles. I would like some feedback on my topic as well. I guess I posted to early in the morning for anyone to see it.

I’d like to see this aspect of the game developed more to. WvW is a huge zerg half the time and sPvP while challenging isnt dynamic at all. I love the skirmishes that break out in the JP and its shameful that its relegate to the corner of WvW, where if you spend time there your perceived as ‘taking away resources’ from WvW.

I was about to write a post about that. Blessed is the search feature.
I currently have to make a huge effort to stay polite with my words. I really get… annoyed by… brainless players whose only goal is to prevent people from doing this jump puzzle. I have no other intention when entering this jump puzzle to have this… lovely achievement. I don’t even care about the chest, and I really don’t care at all about any siege weapon plan or any item I could get in this chest (even if there is a legendary weapon). I just want to do the… lovely jump puzzle!
I tried many times. And I fell many times like on many jump puzzle. Right there is a challenge. Well designed, I rage a lot, but that’s the point of jump puzzle. But when you arrive at the middle of it, after struggling with many attempts and… XXX (no correct word possible here) players just have fun jumping by groups of 4 on you… I really don’t want to play the game anymore. The fun stops here.
And hell I surely don’t want to involve teammates in this. This is definitely not the solution.
I see that people want to complete the monthly achievements and that it is easier to slay harmless players than going to the battlefield. I see they must be laughing their… belly, chatting together on Teamspeak (how naive was this guy… lol).
Well you get the picture.
So I just hope anyone from ArenaNet is reading this, and here are my proposed solutions:
- immortality and no effect in the puzzle area
- no weapons and spells in the puzzle area
- automatic revive (farm issue)
If it is a matter of reward in the chest: remove siege weapon plans and any WvW related items in the chest.
If PVP players want it like this: let the choice of being neutral in the zone. PVP players can have fun together, and leave PVE players alone…
Please do something about this, I beg you.
Thanks for reading. May it be heard by people who can do something about it.
It’s fair play except for the coliseum that comes after the dark room. The game gives you the stealth for the sake of getting by campers but you cannot navigate the dark room while stealth unless you use a siege weapon while stealthed and navigate with the ground target or have a ton of experience so you can do it without seeing the ground. As a result you come out of the dark room completely exposed to hordes of campers who love that area to pick off lonesome innocents and the best part is that even if you manage to survive the camping, the coliseum part of the jumping puzzle is impossible to complete while in-combat without the help of swiftness/movement utilities. Since it’s really friggin tough to drop combat in WvW if it gets trigger while an invader is nearby changing to something that grants swiftness, you’re 100% SOL if that situation.

The real solution:
-If you don’t like PvP stay the heck off a PvP map. Done. Simple. Already implemented.

The problem isn’t that players don’t like the PvP maps….the problem is that ArenaNet put PvE content INSIDE of a PvP map. The solutions that the poster you quoted would make it so that the PvE’rs that aren’t really contributing to PvP can get in, get out, and open up some slots for those that DO want to PvP…..or who knows…maybe they’ll stick around and help out.
It would also force griefers outside of the jumping puzzle where they are visible to the zerg.
Logic will never win an argument on the forums…..only a sense of entitlement will.

There is the problem. Misconception. The EB jump puzzle was DESIGNED with traps for other players to use. People inside the EB JP aren’t griefing they are doing what the puzzle was designed for. It wasn’t an accident that the puzzle was put on a WvW map nor that it gives out WvW rewards.
If it was up to me you’d have to actively participate in WvW each day before doing the WvW JP’s

Exactly
The jump puzzle is hard enough. And I wonder why PVE players don’t have the right to do this jump puzzle because PVP players decided so. OK we play on your battlefield. Sorry for that. I will leave it as soon as I can. Previously I had a rather positive impression on WvW. Now I really don’t like the mentality of this region. For instance I was on a ledge, bothering nobody, just jumping around, and trying some parts several times because I fell from time to time. An XXX shoot at me with an arrow, I fell and I to start from scratch. This guy didn’t want to kill me. He just want to bother me. Well, I don’t think this is how the jump puzzle is designed.
So I would like to do this jump puzzle, without people like you bothering me Casita.

First, that’s not how my name is spelt, but we all make typos, so I’ll let it go
Second, can please explain to me then why this JP is on the WvW map to begin with?
Third, can you please explain why anet themselves put traps into the design of the puzzle to be used against other players if they meant for you to go through it unimpeded?
Finally, I have never camped nor killed anyone in the JP before, but all this sure is making me think of starting.
Obsidian Sanctum is a PvP area, in a PvP zone. I suppose you’d also like to complete all three borderlands and the EB map without being “bothered by people”
Those JPs aren’t there for people to hold hands and have dance parties with the enemy. Those JPs are there to serve as a supply line for players with smaller groups or less money to have an alternative way of acquiring siege weaponry. Those JPs also award badges of honor in recognition that they’re intentionally designed as hostile PvP areas, and that completing them means that while you may not have killed anyone, you’re assumed to have run in to and successfully navigated the puzzle under duress from enemies.
These aren’t free badge farms for PvE players. These are WvW areas with WvW rewards. Asking people to “just let you finish” is the wrong response. If I run in to enemies in any JP, I engage them. it paves the way for allies to acquire additional siege for our team, and it prevents the enemy team from doing so.
