Just wondering if we can hope for Oceanic servers in the future?

We have them after a fashion….. Not approved or promoted by Anet….. But we are here….

I think what he was referring to was defined servers. I know many people would love to see Oceanic servers because for some realms, it gets awfully quite when all the people over seas from us go to bed. There is a large amount of the Australian population that play this game let alone people in New Zealand and whilst some of the servers existing have more of us on then the others, it’s not easy to find that populace balance.

While yes it would be nice. we would only be able to fill one or two severs, which does not work for the WvW lot

I can understand that @ Stevefin, but being the only ones on server in WvW because everyone else is asleep doesn’t really work for WvW either. Door bashing day in day out gets kinda boring after a while.

An Oceanic/Australian server would be fantastic. Other games are including them, even Planetside 2 which is completely free.

Only one Aus or Oceanic server would be necessary at the moment but it would be fantastic. As server pop is going up I ave been suffering lag and some other connection issues that I think might be fixable with a local server.

I know what the OP was meaning but in all reality very few MMO’s do specific region servers which is a good thing….. If we had a all Oceanic server then the playtime would be roughly 12 PM to 11PM (give or take a few hours either side) and outside of that there would be very limited players and so the server would grind to a halt and cause the ones on to be unable to do anything major…..

Seems to be a fairly common request across MMOs. I don’t understand why it isn’t standard yet. It’s 2013 and Australia, New Zealand, and the Oceanic countries have shown they are avid gamers and community members.
