This topic contains the suggestion for ArenaNet to add a forum to the forums where topics that are unrelated to Guild Wars 2 can be posted, in the interest of being able to discuss various things from real life and do entertaining things with posts without having to use the forums of Guild Wars 2-fansites.
First of all, there are many players who want such a ‘hang out forum’, and many of those players do not wish to register accounts at fansites for various reasons. This is a very good argument.
An off topic forum is fun, because things that are popular in real life, such as music and celebrities, but also books and important news, can be discussed with players from all around the world; thus is such a forum also useful in an informational manner. Jokes and riddles can be posted as well, which is very entertaining. I have also heard of certain ‘forum games’, but to my regret, have no knowledge of what kind of games to be able to make this topic more comprehensible. Now, there is a negative aspect (there’s always a negative aspect); inappropriate/offensive topics. Well, I don’t think that it would be a challenge for forum moderators to take care of those, would it be?
