I read today the annoucement for the upcoming events unveiling the lost shore. I’m looking forward to exploring the new zone and all but could you have the once only events happen twice (12 hours apart for eg.) so that people that do not live in america will have a chance to experience it? I live in australia and the once only event is going to be happening at 5am AEST.

Agreed, one time events should be 2 times, spaced 12 hours apart.

Wouldn’t be a one-time event then eh? It doesn’t make much sense to have an event that actually changes the world happen twice, although I see that’s a problem for a lot of people. ANet could shift the time the event happens per server. That would require a working guest function first though.

It was suggested for Magister Tassi during the Halloween event, and I don’t see a reason it can’t be done, but a historian NPC that recounts (activates the relevant cutscenes) the recent events to you would be a good way to solve this.

Frankly, I don’t understand the need to limit it in such a fashion as ANet is currently doing, other than to try to draw in as large a crowd as possible, which is a bit ridiculous.

…which causes a lot of negative side effects as well as most of us probably experienced during the halloween event.

How about you can only get or join in on the event once so even though their are 2 times you can only get the reward once

First of all, it is an American company. They are not purposely sitting around trying to come up with ways to hack off people in other countries.

Secondly, a lot of times, the time Anet chooses isn’t even convenient for Americans. 12 pm on a Sunday is church time for many. Having something on Thursday or Friday afternoon means many Americans are at work. My husband works Saturdays so even Saturday afternoon means he will miss it.

That said, I think if the 1 time event is like the Halloween one which was just a cutscene, not a big deal. As long as no achievement or anything is tied to it.

Now, if it is some really cool 1 time event where you can get something, either achievement or loot, that would be crummy as many, many players would miss out…including Americans.

The noon time that many of Anets events are scheduled for are actually better for EU servers. Really bad for Oceanic though. Which is a bummer because we are moving to Australia which will put us in the 3-5 am category for the noon updates.

When the death of an eldar dragon isn’t a world changing event, I don’t see how any world changing event can’t make sense in comparison.

As soon as it’s pointed out how one time events punish people living in the wrong countries they quickly fall into two groups:
– Those too far along in production to change.
– Those which can be changed. But ANET chooses not to change them, meaning ANET chooses to keep those countries out of them.

12-3pm on a Friday isn’t exactly a convenient time for most americans either. It’s almost like they picked a time that would piss off everyone equally for this event.

i’m pretty sure the event lasts 24 hours, which means everyone will have the same amount of time to do each phase.
