Posting this around 10pst, knowing there’s no way I’ll be available for the one-time events that.

I’m not sure if the Living Story / Flame&Frost event is a one-time thing, but I have missed multiple events already, and it was about time I made a note of it.

Events should start later in the day, when less people are stuck in work / school, so more people can enjoy them.

The problem is that its hard to get a time that pleases everyone. Though I’d like it if they do one day events on Saturdays or weekends since those are days off for most people.

I’m seriously hoping that this time ANet had the good sense to put large time windows on their one-time events. Based on their announced start time, everyone in North America is pretty screwed if these are short-duration.

I honestly believe that ANet knows better, so I’m not overly concerned. The vast majority of their NA server population does not consist of people with nothing to do but game all day, every day.

A big problem with the Karka event was that the EU servers had it going on at the same time as the US servers. That’s just plain silly. Hopefully ANet can learn from its mistakes, and change behaviors (especially when it’s easily rectifiable).

I was under the understanding that is was going to be more of a personal story style thing. Could be wrong though, it happens.

It’s not one time as far as I know.

They’re going to add the whole living story achievement stuff probably – I.e. lighting the camp fires, collecting momentos, etc.

ANet announce one time events well in advance if there are any and I haven’t seen them announce one for this.

If it starts any later that means us folk in GMT would be doing these events at midnight!!! We’re already doing them at 8pm GMT and we were doing the karka event almost passed midnight!

So far as I know, they stated there really weren’t going to be any more “one time events” like with the Lost Shores; given the fact that there was so much controversy over item distribution and people not making the event.

It’s impossible to find a time that pleases everyone.

But the time that pleases the most amount of people, the most optimal time to hold an event, is a much simpler case. And for NA servers, it’s definitely not 12 pst.

Are you mad?

People can stay up past midnight, at which point, most people are at home and have the choice to choose between sleep or gaming.
People in work or school don’t have the luxury of choice. They outright are excluded from participating.

Oh, here’s a thought:

Separate the event times between NA and Europe.
It’s not like those one-time-events need to be synchronized; they’re suppose to be events for the players to enjoy as part of the whole “dyanmic world” thing.
