While this temporary time remains, here are some suggestions that would make GW2 better for the one-time-through solo adventure:
1. Treat what is displayed over the PC’s head identically to what is displayed over other PCs and NPCs heads. It should be visible to the PC too and not just others.
2. When not in combat allow right-clicking on any character including the PC to bring up a list of major achievement/title icons that when hovered over describe what they are.
3. Allow the PC to select and drag any one icon from the list to display over her/his head when in non-combat areas.
Maybe this was a problem for you in GW2 but I think it was a blunder not providing any recognition to the single-player solo efforts.
I’ve been told by a couple people that players who finish the World 100% get a star by their name. I’m waiting to see my star, and worse on other PCs too.
The die-hard players would disagree with me and consider My Story and completing the world 100% easy compared to the PvP in WvW and building exotic equipment, armor, and weapons and I would agree too. In fact I played as little PvP in WvW as possible. If I thought PvP and using the forge to build exotic weapons was the principle purpose of GW2 I would not have bought the game. I thought GW2 was much greater then this though and enjoyed what I accomplished a lot even though I found little sentiment for my feelings in the forums.
