First of all i will make it clear that the game is going fine until now , but i think that you missed a big part off the bill to play ( aka b2p ) system .
to be successfully the b2p system in a game the game must grow in time and not remain in the same position for years.
until now i am seeing that when you measure some population drops you are opening the free trial to involve new players in the game. this is good for a company that not take big risks and remains in the current position in their profits.
but there are some parts in the game that need “more love” aka money and developers like new areas that after a year the game not have one announce ….
this creates a negative feeling to the old players and you must do something for that asap … most of the people that i know and have stopped the game is because there are no new pve areas to explore .
i understand that this need bigger studio , human resources and money but if you don’t want see gw2 be empty soon you must find the easier and cheaper way to grow up gw2 .
my idea is very simple and i think it will pleasure a lot the spvp players.
make spvp always free to play
i think that technically is possible and easy without big investments with the current system you have implemented spvp because it is total separated ( different instances ) from the other game and it is like a different game in the game ( pvp armors /weapons only used in spvp , different traits) . with a few words ….
make a LOL inside gw2
you will see that a big part of these free to play players that use gw2 only in spvp mode will buy the game at the end, to start explore tyria ( the only area that they can play while they are in free mode would be the spvp area ) and play in www
and this will make gw2 bigger and of course will bring the big updates sooner, something that will satisfy the old players too
p.s. when you reach the first million , send me a legendary weapon please :p
