Hello everyone.

So, this suggestion is perhaps not on an area that is “The most important thing in the world” bracket, but I thought I would bring it up anyways.

Guild Wars 2 is home to about 3000 roleplayers worldwide (According to the membercount on the fansite for gw2 roleplayers), and we’re really enjoying the game so far. There is however something I have noticed, and that is that not all buildings are fully extended/open, which is something that cripples roleplay outside of the main cities.
I’m not talking about the houses that are fully closed, more about those who are already open.
A specific case I can mention is that the inn-building in Applenook Hamlet (Cornucopian Fields on the Gendarran Fields map) is not fully open, it lacks both upstairs and the kitchen which is something that is open in buildings of the same kind inside the cities (fx. the home instance).
Even more so, during the Norn Storyline on the Whispers path, you are sent to Applenook and are send into the inn-building, which in the storyquest area is fully open.

It would be to great benefit of the roleplayers if you considered opening up buildings like these fully, so that we may use them for our roleplay without running out of space (As it is right now, we can have about 10 roleplayers inside before it becomes way too crowded). I don’t know why you’ve decided to cut some buildings off like that out in the big world, it’s somewhat of a puzzle really because it seems like you have the models there and ready. What would it take for you to open up more of them fully like they are in other places?

On a similar note, I’ve noticed that damage goes through buildings – When pirates attack the “bounty loot” that is placed outside of the innbuilding and you stand inside, you can actually be killed by their damage going -through- the buildings walls (you can also see the particle effects)
It’s an inconvenience and a “Wtf” moment, so if you could fix it eventually, that’d be awesome.

Hope you’ll consider the suggestions, it’s lovely to be back in Tyria after all of these years.

Gonna second this actually. But this will require some time, considering GW2 already has video performance issues, increasing the polycount even more won’t help that. They’ll have to nail down the rendering engine, first, because not even high-end computers can run the game the way they should (i.e. 50-60 FPS).
I’ll be getting into the RP scene soon, and it’d be handy to have more open areas and higher performance to boot.

I didn’t even know there was a role players forum. Wow! Thanks for that info.

I Agree with you all on this, more open buildings would be great indeed!.. I’d love to see this happen, not in the nearest future but within a year perhaps.

Even so it’s true, there are some problems with the computers not being able to actually run the game at its fullest, even though the computer should be able to pull it off. I myself have a good computer, even so I tend to lag and often have to quit the game to restart it, then the lag issue seems gone. (this might just be a common problem)

But back to the main topic! Yes more open buildings on the countryside and not just in the towns, would be great! I hope to see this done in the future.

Nice idea but “lots” of attention needed elsewhere with game and combat i think. Once these are balanced and corrected yes more open building etc maybe even if its introduced in further add-ons which will come.
