Open up Armor Types
A warrior weilding a greatsword would not be distinguishable from a mesmer with a greatsword. Why would you see an elementalist wearing full plate armor?

Why not? The restriction was put in for balance reasons in PNP games and carried over to online games. As to not knowing he was a mesmer… well there is the butterfly logo when you target them, and the pink SFX — not to mention dupes — kind of give it away.

Neither of those is a very valid argument.
This would be amazing because some of the armor I wanted on my Guardian (TA Light Armor) I can’t get, I even made a Mesmer to try and level and get it, but with this it would go so much faster and playing as a melee GS fighter with Light armor would be amazing.

If you can’t tell when you are fighting a warrior or a Mesmer based upon their armor, you should not pvp. You should also not drag the rest of us down to that level.
Personally I don’t care as much about EQUIPPING said armor, but I would like to be able to transmute other armor visuals onto my current armor. Maybe that’s just because the helm skin I really want for my warrior happens to be light armor. ;w;
Oh god, no. They already said they won’t do this.
I would definitely like to see this as I feel it could add a lot of variation in terms of both builds and appearance.
I made a similar thread about a month ago, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Armors-for-all/first#post1627541

I know, it’s such a terrible idea to provide more visual and tactical options -eyeroll-
would be fun…better not.
Timelord to Lillium Honeybuns, IoJ
Forever together, or not at all.
I see no point in not doing this, since the logical precedent is pretty much set in this game already; there is no “holy trinity” (in theory?) & classes that shouldn’t be able to wield a variety of weapons by any logical sense actually can.
The game is designed to be very visual oriented in class identification.
It is one of the reasons the devs have blatently come out and said they will NEVER allow classes to wear certaina rmor.
You can post as much as you want about it and it will not change things, the devs are very firm in this design decision.

Yeah, thank God they insist on maintaining antiquated holdovers, we simple-minded people hate change after all.
Thanks for your superb insight.

Ah yes, I disagree with you, therefore I’m simple-minded.
Speaking of “superb insight.”
Why don’t you really go for the throat and toss in some remark about my mom while you’re at it.
For my thief I just want to show bulk flesh and have armor as outrageous as a mesmer. But I cant, just let me transmute light armor to medium. I am sick of looking like a cowboy and wearing baggy clothes.
Or
Just remove armor types and have it as a passive class skill. So we can really mix and match.
Or
Let the community design new armor, because your staff are not every good a doing .

I’d probably disagree with you more civilly if you actually contributed something worthwhile with your ‘disagreement’. But feel free to continue trolling and then hypocritically implying others are juvenile.

Did you ever preview light+medium+heavy armor? before the preview change? Evrything clipped so horribly that it made you look laughable at best. Current designs are designed to work together with other armors of the same type. There is still clipping in the same armors, but not nearly as bad as it could be.

Contribute? So you can jam more words down my throat and continue to build your little strawmen accented with your petty little insults?
No thanks.
