Please add option to hide gloves and chest armor. Hiding chest armor is especially useful for male characters.

I think he’s kidding. But yeah, this would be nice simply for the option to go all “Conan the Barbarian” – though I suppose the pit fighter chest piece works well enough.

Not the OP but will venture that it would show off tattoos (Norn at least) not that useful for Norn female toons since they would show their underwear which doesn’t look good but males can go all “barbarian”.

As other posted there are options for both genders to show off lots of skin at least on the heavy and light side… not sure about medium, so a bit redundant imo.

I’ve thought this as well, actually, from the male perspective of norn warriors looking sweet without chest armor and all their tattoos on display.

I’ll vote for this. And yes, mainly for males

I’d vote for being able to hide chest armor. Hell a lot of the cloth female gear is so revealing as it is, it’s not like it’d be a big change. I’d like this option on my male ranger.

Besides which, no matter how many times people have requested the option to show/hide armour pieces (not a fan of hiding chest armour, but each to their own), these requests have been ignored, whereas a few whiny, but persistent people demanding gear progression/grind have been granted their wish in the latest patch even though it goes directly against ANet’s own game philosophy.

My friend does this irregularly in WvW (usually it’s with his pants, not with his shirt). Hilarity ensues.

There are many chest armors that bare most of the chest. Get one, transmute and profit.

This is why it would be nice to hide the chest/hand armour for males!

I would like the option to hide my gloves/bracers, I like my (Female) Ranger with bare arms and hands.

Norn tier 2 for bare chested medium armor on males. (really the norn are the only ones with tats to show off so other races it is kinda meh artistically speaking)

I agree why only head and shoulders? All pieces of armor should have the option to show or not. At least make an “invisible” armor that we could buy in the gem store. I know of a few mmos that have that in their cash shop.

It would be nice for my Charr character also. I went to a lot of trouble to pick out a fur pattern I like and it’s not even visible. All the armor covers it up completely. Having the option to hide chest armor would be a plus for the looks.

I would like to remove pants and legs too.

imo its pretty obvious why gw2 withheld this option, its cause we all know every single male out there wants to be kitten and would love to flaunt his cuts irl or in game. so rather than have everyone shirtless(in some games i played back then there was a time when male toons were shirtless 1 out 3 times) and have everyone looking nearly identical in the upper torso area, i think anet just decided on not having an option to hide chest armor. same goes with other parts it seems, as nearly every male irl would strip his female toon at least once and again preventing an all out nudefest fashion for a few weeks or even months before the players get sick of it and start dressing uniquely.

yes i would like to see this as well,it would look good especially for norn and there are some horrible armores on my charr i would rather not have to see haha all those skirts!
plus running around bare chested is cool

If you’re light armor, use the feathered set chest armor shows some skin, if you’re heavy, then use the pit fighter, barbaric or gladiator chests armors, they all show lots of skin.

If you’re medium armor user, then yep, you’re screwed..

Why stop at the torso?

They really should put in the ability to hide any piece of armor

Yeah, as silly as it might sound I would also like to be able to hide chest, foot armor etc. Another thing I definitely would like to see implemented is the accessories, amulets and rings to appear on you once you equip them.

Edit: We definitely need multiple underwear options!
