Many people that play guardians have a really tough time taking a nice looking screen shot of there toon because of Aegis. It’s really in the way and not very good looking. Maybe ANet can make an option in the game options to turn the visual effects of Aegis off or something like that

If not removed, it should at least change to something less obtrusive than a clear glowing shield. Why not a blue flaming circlet hovering over your head or something.
+1 to this. I have the same shield and it drives me nuts because it completely ruins the look of the shield itself. I have a boon icon to tell me when I have aegis active, I don’t need a distracting texture ruining effect to tell me.
Yes, please, the aegis really breaks the appearance of any shield you wear. Would really like an option to hide it, or if it was possible for Anet to change it, maybe they could make a bluish outline around the shield you are currently wielding whenever Aegis is up?
That could be a nice change in appearance seeing as you already wear a shield and it could kind of enhance that shield with your Aegis effect, instead of the shield-on-shield with its clipping issues you currently get.

Definite +1, either remove the effect or change it to , say a shield on the ground or a bubble thats very transparent, but the floating shield always on my guardian has to go.
If i want a shield, i will equip a shield.
BUMP and BUMP again and again and plus 1 million! I have bee talking about this with my guildies how I LOATHE this effect and how it takes away from my shields appearance.
Just need to do away with this all together or make it less intrusive like the poster above me says “put it on the ground”.

I wouldn’t say any shield, I use the guild commendation shield and I like how it looks with aegis since it lands right on top of the decoration in the center of it, makes it look like part of the design IMHO. That said, I 100% agree with the option to turn the effect off, or at least be able to cancel the buff somehow for taking screenshots.

Wait, wait wait. Not related to Aegis, but something else in this thread. Cancel buffs by right clicking. Why isn’t this possible yet? Dude. Totally new wish for game improvement.
And I suppose an option to disable the graphic for Aegis.
But not for others, since it is a rather good indicator that your next skill will be blocked so you can plan, without losing time by clicking on the enemy and looking at his/her/its buffs.
Oh yes, that would make me so happy!
Just a few buffs have a graphical effect (i.e. swiftness). If it is impossible to disable the graphic for Aegis completely because then people won’t get a warning that their next attack will be blocked, maybe change it into something else? Something more discreet, maybe?

Of course, this also wouldn’t be an issue if we could cancel buffs on ourselves by right-clicking on them.
That would be an amazing change. I would love to be able to cancel the swiftness I get from other players in jumping puzzles rather than just standing around waiting for it to wear off so I can proceed with normal speed and not get messed up by the swiftness.
