Now I know there have been threads suggesting this on other forums but I thought I’d create a thread for it here.
As I understand it, GW2 has a built-in skill queue which forces allows you to queue a skill to be used immediately after a skill currently in progress. It also queues skills to be used following CC such as a stun. Situations like this can sometimes result in a crucial skill missing and being wasted. For example, you are stunned, you press a skill, the stun ends and the enemy has since moved behind you, you use the skill, swinging in front of you, missing.
Now one could argue, “well just don’t press the skill until you’re not stunned anymore,” and it’s true this would work. But 100% perfect timing and awareness cannot be expected in a combat situation.
I have heard this also causes issues with pet active skills. Apparently pets have a skill queue of their own, and activating a skill manually will not override their skill queue. So if you try to cast a live saving pet skill and your pet has different plans, well, you’re dead.
In trying to keep this short, I am suggesting that the skill queue be an optional setting that can be disabled. Rather than queueing the skill it would either simply not cast (in the case of being stunned or incapable of casting it at the time) or interrupt the current skill you are casting.
TLDR: make skill queue optional.
