My suggestion is to have the Orbs have a negative affect along with the buff. Perhaps have the keep holding an orb have deterioration issues. Trying to fight a zerg where the enemy has 15% health and 150 to all stats makes it feel hopeless (especially when fighting servers that have more numbers to begin with). Make holding the Orbs and gaining a substantial buff have a detrimental effect. I’m not saying nerf the orbs buff, but make it hard to hold. Makes me think of the pvp game types in WAR and Rift, where if you hold the orb you take damage. The orbs are so powerful that they wreak havoc on the infrastructure of the keep they’re held in.

I’ve suggested before that the holder of Orbs should be negatively affected in WvW, while the world buffs from the Orbs affects the holder’s world in PvE. This basically buffs the losing worlds to give them a fighting chance (instead of giving up).

But I don’t know if people would go for such an idea.

Outmanner gives buffs to your combat, orbs of power give buffs to your magic find and the such.
