I have looked around and have not found any explanation to the games out of combat system.

The system seems to base itself on several different factors because you can just have gotten out of a fight be it pvp/wvw/pve and you will go out of combat really quick or you will take 30seconds to minutes waiting to be released when you are not fighting.

I have been in situations in WvW where I have ran out of a fight to heal and stood still, my weapons have been put away and I have not taken damage or dealt any and not regenerate or anything after about 2 mins, the same has happened in jumping puzzles where if I have fallen I have stood there for 5 minutes waiting to get back to be able to do a jump because I have to wait for it to get out of combat.

So what I ask is for an explanation to how it actually works because it doesn’t seem like it has one factor but many that contribute to whether or not you are in combat.

Quite simple, very bad game mechanic.
You could have two players stood side by side, one hits the other, then they stow weapons & stand still…

for hours, days, years…..

This game leaves you in combat until you are out of range, in which it then takes a second or two to reset.

Sort of understand they don`t want some classes out ranging then full hp & rushing back in, but the other player would also gain full hp too.

Same problem if happens & you fall onto a cliff ledge, enemy can afk at the top & you`ll be in combat until you fall to your death.

It has been brought up loads & has been ignored by devs every time.
