The current outmanned buffs are lacking imo.I do not need 20% MF when i’m outmanned,what’s the point when you get wiped allover the place? Rather make the outmanned buff a usefull thing and expand the current outmanned buff by adding stats like below.

##% Dmg reduction
+ ##% Toughness
+ ##% Vitality

The take no armor dmg on death is a nice addition,but again it does not help me at all getting anywhere when i’m outmanned.

Players would be able to stand a chance,,and hold out a bit longer when outmannend heavily and i honestly think either one of those buffs could probably solve this problem to some extent.

You offer a good suggestion, one I can’t see what’s wrong with it. Coming from Gates of Madness ( we were for seven weeks facing GREEN darkhaven, GoM was Blue) GoM faced darkhaven outnumbered 3-1 every time, a buff like the one above would have stimulated others from just giving up until darkhaven moved up a tier. It certainly would have kept me in the action as I knew that I still had some kind of chance.

I know im digging this up from the depths of the forums but, personally i agree thats the no armour dmg on death is a nice addition but doesnt really give u an advantage where numbers are concerned in battle.

I would probably suggest that while you are outmanned the AoE cap should be raised by #% amount i wouldnt say removed all together because it could cause a problem with AoE heals etc.

I think in the long run could decrease the large zergs too on some servers, for example: on occasions i have noticed to be queuing for 2 maps and outmanned the other 2 maps. By raising the AoE cap for outmanned could make ppl want the outmanned buff and split from zergs, more AoE = more loot?

But overall and main aim it would give u some “REAL” help while you are outmanned and give u some extra advantage and not make the enemy think “they are outmanned lets just steamroll them and demoralise them until they cant take any more and they log out”

The current outmanned buff can be described as a joke. The illogical AoE limit and downed state makes it very difficult to score any kills when the enemy controls the entire map and greatly outnumbers you. Even if you manage to down an opponent, his team mates will revive him quickly, thus you don’t get kills. Where’s the fun?

The outmanned should be reworked as follows:
1. Give health and thoughness boost to the outmanned side players, NPCs and structures e.g. 20%-40% increase in thoughness and health or like the original poster suggested: overall 20-40% reduction in received damage.
- the size of the buff might vary based how badly you are outnumbered
- so small increase in health and thoughness would not make the outmanned side too powerful, in fact if the enemy outnumbers them even by just 2:1, they should still have no trouble killing the outmanned
- care must be taken not to give too good durability to outmanned players, because otherwise stealthed players on the outmanned side will become more of less immortal e.g. imagine a thief who remains visible only for 4 seconds. If his health would double, it would be difficult to spike him down during that time and then he would stealth again
2. Outmanned should never be visible to the enemy
- Having some party marked as outmanned has lead that side being constantly sandwiched and picked by both enemy sides as they see an easy victim there. It has also left to spawn camping, which I have experienced as the outmanned side countless of times. I know there is the commander Siegerazer/Siegecrusher breakout event, but honestly this is not that useful. I have once commanded our troops to spawn camp the enemy (which was NOT outmanned), we slaughtered them for 2 hours in a row in front of their gates. Killing Siegerazer/Siegecrusher is not that difficult.

There needs to be some balancing force! Glicko system keeps the tiers very static as we have seen in past couple of months, not much changes.

Anet needs to understand that is a dire situation and leads to entire server doing desperate things.

I play for Desolation, which is at the moment still in euro tier #1. We are planning to intentionally drop down to tier 2. More interestingly Seafarer’s Rest is also planning to do the same, intentionally drop to tier #2 from tier #1. If Anet doesn’t yet understand that there is something fundamentally wrong with their game balancing when two tier #1 worlds intentionally decide to leave tier #1, then I don’t what gets through their thick skulls?

We have been red color already for many months in a row and most of our players are sick and tired to being hopelessly outnumbered outside prime time and have all our upgraded keeps, towers etc. night capped every single night. I don’t blame our enemy for doing the obvious: spawn camping, selecting the outmanned side as their #1 target. I blame Arenanet for making the joke called “outmanned buff”!

In past weeks several major guilds have left our server. Some might come back when the situation gets better.

The sad thing is dropping tiers isn’t an example of people gaming the system to screw with others, like siege spamming and exploits, it is to give the Outmanned servers an opportunity to have a chance. Its similar to the difference between stealing jewelry and stealing bread – one you do because you can, the other because you must.

I’d go even further and give the outmanned side Champions… imagine a zerg going up against a couple player-controlled Kohlers…

I don’t think adding some champions would be a good idea. After all there are players in this game, which have soloed even the hardest champion bosses and group events. And to make the outmanned side have some legendary or epic NPCs sounds just a bit too much.

The outmanned buff should not be too good, because otherwise some servers could take advantage of it. But we certainly need more balancing factors.

The glicko system should be changed so that every week (why not everyday?) the world, which scored the lowest points, drops one tier and the one which scores the highest tier advances to higher tier. This is to prevent the current static situation, where many worlds have the same color month after month and breaking out from some tiers is close to impossible.

It seems that intentionally dropping to lower tiers is difficult as well. Now Desolation has already wanted to drop for 2nd week in a row. And SFR also wants to lower tier, but I don’t see it happening this week. Just looking at the points Elona Reach (ER) won’t have enough points to advance to a higher tier.

This just a prime example how broken the current system is. Even if you want to drop down: intentionally not upgrading any keeps or towers, pretty much give towers for free (not defend it, even though you know it is under attack), cap supplies etc. at wrong time (not caring about the counter), you are still stuck to same tier.

I really urge the developers to address this issue fast and communicate with the players. I can provide the contact information of Desolation main commanders & guild leaders. I am myself only a PuG commander.
