Over Flow In reverse
I don’t think you understand how overflow servers work.
I think what the OP means is that low population zones should be consolidated into cross server zones.
I am well aware of what they were meant for. What I am saying is change the idea of them. If you have low population areas and you can not complete certain tasks. Maybe an option could be to enter an overflow with other servers and be able to play with others. but yes see Cerise reply =)
An overflow server would almost always have fewer players than a normal server, because by definition it would require at least one normal server to be full for people to even reach overflow. Of course, if that server IS full, nobody from there would want to go to Overflow, because they have no problem finding players on their full server.
In GW1, you had the ability to swap servers as you wished; you could go to the German server, and back to English, or “International”. Most of the time, you’d find the most players in the plain old default English one.
>>Of course, if that server IS full, nobody from there would want to go to Overflow<<
I usually stay in overflow once I’m there; I’m glad it gives me the option now. (at least ’til I move to another zone)
I’m sorry I stepped outta yer box, don’ worry, if
ya whine enough they’ll put me right back.
Agree with OP. They should have an option to join a universal server whenever they need, just so people have somewhere to go to do DEs. The tech clearly exists.
Should just let us go into overflow at will peroid.
I actually agree with this idea. If we disregard the name “overflow” for a second and call them, something else; say “Consolidation servers”.
The idea being when a realm population drops below a certain absoloute number, (judged by the point where there’s too few people to complete the events), then it groups people from multiple servers into a single ‘shared’ server.
This means that when the population of the game starts dying down, (Which it already has started to) you won’t be walking around in an empty world. The world will always be full of real people doing events.
If there was some way to upvote this idea, it could be a simple fix that basically saves this game.
