The one thing that really ticks me off when I hear (from guild mates) that an event is nearing is when I use a WP to get to the event, I sometimes get put into an Overflow Map.

Why not give the player an option to decline entering an Overflow map?

Every time I go to one with the purpose of participating in an event with my guild mates I end up wasting my $$ since neither the event nor my guild mates are there.

Give a small warning:
The way point you selected to travel to is only available on an overflow map. Do you still wish to travel there?

Is that too hard to implement?

This happened before the whole Megaboss Daily Chest and I assumed that problem went away.

I don’t see how this would be too hard to implement as they have this option for WvW, in this case you should have an option to: Wait for Overflow or Travel anyways.
